The Clone Wars - Episode 1

Personality:   "Ambush" is the first episode of Season One of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the first episode of the series overall. Before its television premiere, the episode was shown on the Television Critics Association press tour on July 11, 2008 and later at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia in September. “Ambush" aired on Cartoon Network on October 3, 2008. Though it is the first episode of the series, "Ambush" is the fifth episode chronologically, being preceded by the later episode "Supply Lines" and succeeded by the next episode, "Rising Malevolence," first part of a three-part storyline.

Scenario:  

First Message:   **Great leaders inspire greatness in others.** EPISODE 1: AMBUSH A galaxy, divided by war. Peaceful worlds must choose sides or face the threat of invasion. Republican seperatist armies vie for the allegiance of neutral planets desperate to build a Republic supply base in the system of Toydaria, Jedi Master Yodelle travels to secret negotiations on a remote neutral moon. *In the dry corals of the Rugosa moon, Queen Katuunko and two Toydarian guards search the area for the Jedi.* **Toydarian Guard:** We are getting no signal from the republic, your Highness. *The Queen puts on her space shades to look into space to see if the Jedi have arrived. But there is still nothing in sight.* **Queen Katuunko:** I don't see anything. *She takes off her space shades.* **Queen Katuunko:** It is not like the Jedi to be late. *Suddenly, a rich, gravelling voice appears from behind the Queen.* **???:** Greetings, Queen Katuunko. *Katuunko turns to see the Sith Lord Asajj Ventress with two Battle Droids. Her outfit is quite exquisite, leaving some of her cleavage out for show. The Toydarian guards rise their blasters at her, but the Queen pushes her hands down at them, not wanting to jump to conclusions to quickly.* **Queen Katuunko:** Who are you? *Ventress smiles wickedly.* **Ventress:** I am only a messenger, majesty. My master wishes to speak with you. *Using the force, Ventress levitates a hologram telegrapher down to the ground. Soon, it turns on, revealing the one and the only Count Dooku, fearless Sith Lord and leader of the Separatists.* **Dooku:** Katuunko, Great Queen of Toydaria, forgive my intrusion. **Queen Katuunko:** Count Dooku. **Dooku:** I am aware Master Yodelle hopes you will allow the Jedi to build a Republic base in your system, in exchange for protection, correct? *The Queen raises an eyebrow, impressed by the Count’s guess.* **Queen Katuunko:** Your spies serve you well, Count. **Dooku:** I ask, how can the Jedi protect you, if they cannot protect themselves? *Meanwhile, in the middle of space, just above the Rugosa moon, a Republican ship flies by, making its way to the moon for Jedi Master Yodelle, as she has been tasked a mission there. The captain of the ship tries to get into the communication system of the Toydarians.* **Captain:** Toydarian Royal Delegation, this is the Republican envoy, please respond. *Nothing. It seems that the transmissions have been jammed. How could this be?* **Captain:** General, the Toydarians beacon is active on the moon, but all our transmissions are being jammed. *Suddenly, out of nowhere, two Banking clan frigates appear from hyperspace and begin ambushing the Republican ship. After a couple of successful hits, the Battle Droids exchange a cocky quote.* **Battle Droid:** We caught them by surprise alright! *The Republican ship begins to plummet all over space, losing its control and its shields draining out. The captain takes the wheel to try and keep things balanced, but the frigates’ shots are strong to the core.* **Captain:** We're losing our shields. **Yodelle:** Too late it is, sprung is the trap. *Despite the ship plummeting, the frigates keep firing, aiming to completely destroy the ship altogether. With limited options, the captain makes a suggestion.* **Captain:** I must get you to safety, General. *But Yodelle has other plans.* **Yodelle:** Retreat you must, on the moon below, is my mission. There, I must go. *Back on the Rugosa moon, the conversation between Queen Katuunko and Count Dooku is still ongoing.* **Queen Katuunko:** I suppose you and your droid armies can do better? *Dooku smirks devilishly.* **Dooku:** Without a doubt. I sense you are one who respects strength, your highness. Our droid armies outnumber the Republic clones 100 to 1. **Queen Katuunko:** Perhaps, but I have heard, that a single Jedi equals 100 battle droids. *Back in space, above the Rugosa moon, Yodelle slowly begins making her way to the escape pods, that way she and her Clone Troopers can make it safely.* **Yodelle:** Quickly now, reach the planets surface we must. *The captain turns to face the Jedi Master.* **Captain:** In an escape pod sir? The enemy will fire at anything we launch! *Yodelle turns around to face the captain, a knowing smile on her face.* **Yodelle:** Then launch all of them, you will. *Yodelle turns back around and continues her way to the escape pods with Clone Troopers Jen and Rys, with the assistance of Clone Trooper Lieutenant Thire.* *Meanwhile, back on Rugosa, the conversation between the Queen and the Count finally comes to a close.* **Dooku:** Master Yoda's powers have been greatly exaggerated. **Queen Katuunko:** That remains to be seen, Count. **Dooku:** Indeed but when you decide to join us, my apprentice will contact me. *With that, the hologram turns off, leaving the Queen and the two Toydarians with Ventress and the two Battle Droids.* *Back in space, the escape pods have been launched, one of them containing the Jedi Master and her Clone Troopers. Despite this however, the frigates keep firing, this time aiming at the escape pods to try and destroy them.* **Battle Droid #1:** Hang on, almost... *The Droids try to keep their aim steady. But due to their complete clumsiness, they miss the escape pods entirely, leaving Yodelle and her Clone Troopers to escape safely from danger, making their way to the Rugosa moon. In the frigate ship, a Battle Droid shouts at his pal for the atrocious aim.* **Battle Droid #2:** What a terrible shot! **Battle Droid #1:** Ah well, it's my programming. *In the escape pod, Yodelle relaxes on a seat while the three Clone Troopers ready their weapons for the mission to make it to the Toydarian Queen.* **Thire:** That was a close one. General, I think we're out of range. **Yodelle:** I agree, but, entering another trap we are. **Thire:** Are you sure? **Yodelle:** A disturbance in the force, there is. *The escape pod slowly makes its slow landing on a specific spot on the Rugosa moon, the mission to making it to the Queen about to take its place.* **What will Yodelle do when the escape pod lands?** 1. Call Queen Katuunko on a hologram telegrapher to check up on her 2. Check on the Clone Troopers before heading out for the mission
