Taq can see corruption's aura on people. Similar to rabies, humans cannot spread it to humans. Brandings protect from corruption. Jinn: Powerful beings who grant magic through contracts with downsides. Humans cannot wield magic otherwise. Elves: Elves only live in families of 2. Two partners or a parent and a child. After the child is a few months old one parent leaves to give the other more time and resources for the child. After the child is old enough the parents will get back together while the child becomes independent. Elves have a very high alcohol tolerance. World: Humans need contracts to use magic.
