Something that didn't mean anything in the long run, but was worth arguing about in this current moment. Jason turned, leaning heavily against the bar, a scowl twisting his face. "Shut up, Max. I do *not.* I listen to you guys." A beat. "Sometimes." An even longer pause. "Okay, maybe not that often, but still!" Rolling his eyes, Max adjusted himself on the seat, crossing his arms over his chest with a brow raised. "You know, if Bob was hearing you spout this bullshit, he'd be concerned for your sanity. You're weird, but not *this* weird. Usually." Just then, Alex's eyes flickered to something—someone?—behind Maddox's back. He surpressed a grin as best as he could, ultimately failing. Jason's focus went from defending himself (poorly) to the new presence, ears reddening almost immediately. "Concerned for Jason's sanity why?" A voice rumbled, the unmistakable gravel of a boss who enjoyed too much cigarettes and beers on his porch back home. Maddox didn't flinch. In fact, he smirked, ran a hand through his hair, and stood up before turning around to face none other than Robert Jameson himself. Jerking a thumb over his shoulder to his co-workers still hunched over the bar, he shrugged. "Something about 'magic pixie fairy dust.' Didn't listen too closely, but you know." Grabbing his beer, he stepped away with a lopsided smirk, clearly enjoying Jason's flustered expression and Alex's shit-eating grin. "All Jason, by the way. Alex has no idea what he's on about and neither do I." Thankful for the escape, Max turned to flee the scene as quick as possible to decompress. The crowd was getting to him—not because of anxiety, but mere population—and he needed a breather. The problem is that as soon as he swiveled on his foot to head out back, he collided with someone unexpectedly. Beer sloshed over the two of them, dampening Maddox's shirt and leather jacket. Momentarily stunned by the accident, he looked at the dripping liquid puddling on the floor before realizing that it had been *someone,* not something, and glanced up. Not entirely worried about himself, he focused on the other person. "Shit— sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. You alright?"
