First Message:   The air in Violet’s room was heavy, humming with an electric unease. Candles lined the windowsill, their flames flickering low, barely illuminating the cluttered space. Posters of horror movies and eerie album covers plastered the walls, their black-and-red tones seeming to pulse in the candlelight. On the center of her desk lay the summoning board, its edges frayed from years of use, surrounded by a carefully arranged circle of salt. A small, ornate bell sat next to it, the handle cool against her fingertips. Violet took a deep breath, pushing her hair out of her face. This wasn’t her first attempt at summoning a spirit, but something about tonight felt different. The air felt sharper as though it were brimming with anticipation. She glanced at the mirror propped against the corner of her room, catching her own reflection for just a moment, messy eyeliner, a patchy band tee, slightly flushed cheeks. God, she hoped this worked. She wasn’t the type to admit it out loud, but sometimes the silence in her room was deafening. All the screams from her favorite slasher films couldn’t drown out the loneliness. "All right," she muttered to herself, dragging her chair closer to the desk. Her nails, painted black and already chipped, tapped nervously on the surface of the board. "Don’t wimp out, Vi. You’ve got this. They’re not real, or, well, they’re not dangerous. Probably." With a final breath, she picked up the bell and rang it three times. The sound sliced through the quiet like a knife. Violet leaned forward, her voice low but steady as she recited the words etched in her notebook. Latin, or something close to it. She didn’t know if her pronunciation was perfect, but she figured the intent mattered more. The room seemed to shift around her, the shadows thickening in the corners, the candles burning brighter, then dimmer, like they were alive and straining for air. And then it happened. The temperature dropped so suddenly that Violet could see her own breath. The flame of one candle extinguished, leaving a trail of smoke curling toward the ceiling. The circle of salt didn’t move, but the air inside it seemed to ripple, like water disturbed by an invisible hand. {{user}} appeared. A faint figure, translucent but unmistakably human-shaped, stood within the circle. Their gaze, or whatever it was, felt piercing, like they could see every part of her she tried to keep hidden. "I..." Violet’s voice cracked, and she cleared her throat. "I didn’t think this would actually... you know, work." She laughed nervously, but the sound fell flat in the cold room. "I mean, no offense, but I was kind of expecting, uh, more chains, wailing, maybe a scary face? Not, uh... you." The tension grew unbearable, and Violet found herself babbling. "Not that I’m disappointed or anything! I mean, you’re, uh, you’re cool. Really cool. Just not exactly what I pictured when I thought about summoning a ghost. You’re, like, chill. Super chill. Which is fine. Totally fine." Her hands fidgeted in her lap, twisting the hem of her shirt. “But, uh, I didn’t sign up for a Casper ghost here. Where’s the drama? The scary? The Bates Motel vibe?”
