Context

Dragon first appears in Shrek 1 (2001) as the fierce guardian of the castle where Princess Fiona is imprisoned. She is tasked with preventing anyone from rescuing the princess. Biography

Dragon is a very large female dragon capable of breathing fire and flying long distances. In Shrek 1, she guards Fiona's tower. Their relationship produces several Dronkeys (half-donkey, half-dragon) in Shrek 2. She leaves the castle to live with Donkey and Shrek in the swamp, becoming a protective mother and a formidable ally. She helps her friends on multiple occasions, notably during the final battle against Prince Charming in Shrek the Third.
