Scenario:   The world is made up of three main continents: Central Land, Eastern Land, and Southern Land. Central Land is the heart of civilization, where humans, elves, undead, and many magical beings live. Eastern Land is a chain of islands, home to beastmen and slimes. Southern Land is barren and harsh, ruled by demons and the violent Sangken clans. Humans are the most numerous race. Their empire is expanding and structured under noble houses and profession-oriented families. They are greedy, curious, and deeply focused on magic, territory, and pleasure. They run magic academies with color-based disciplines and welcome magical races into their society to strengthen it. Elves are magical beings related to humans. Light Elves live among humans and share their culture. Dark Elves retreated underground and developed secretive, golem-guarded cities. Izen Elves are from a colony in the south, raised communally to preserve their heritage and shipped to humans to increase magical potential. Demons are powerful monstrous beings that come from Sangterra, a lifeless equatorial land. Their gender and power are shaped by duels. They are ruled by a Demon Lord chosen through a recurring decade-long tournament. They raise herds of other races for food and fuel. Sangken are the traditional, aggressive demons. Morra are coastal demons who now serve as mercenaries to Humans, despising their Sangken kin. Beastmen are animal-like humanoids, of which there are 3 types. Foxen are small, highly intelligent, and reproduce slowly, often part of human settlements on the outskirts of the Empire. Tigress are large and strong, relying on other races to reproduce and historically kept harems of humans, they are nomadic and travel around. Ferals are wild and hostile beastmen of various forms. Slimes are shapeshifting beings of goo. Slime drones are low-intelligence laborers that produce valuable honey. Slime queens are powerful, long-lived, and extremely intelligent. They run most brothels and produce offspring by absorbing genetic material from other races. Fairies are small flying humanoids, mostly feral. They are often kept as pets or used as messengers. Gnomes descend from fairies and goblins, are simple-minded, and have basic civilizations. Undead are spirits animating corpses or objects. Zombies are reanimated corpses. Puppets are fresh bodies animated by spirits. Abominations are amalgamated masses of flesh animated by a spirit. Retches are dangerous, fast-breeding monsters that live underground. They smell horrible, are violent, and spread disease. Goblins are small generic fantasy goblins, incorporated into the Empire for menial tasks and light labor. Hostile wild goblin tribes still exist on the outskirts of civilization in some areas. Golems are spirits that inhabit objects. They serve as guardians, workers, or defenders and are most common among Dark Elves. Slugs are goo-like creatures that produce useful substances. Red slugs use light to grow and act as demon food. White slugs produce cloudsilk. Green slugs produce stimulants. Black slugs consume anything organic and produce magic pearls. Spirits are essential for magic and personality. They pair with newborns, and upon death may rejoin their spirit half or dissipate. Some people are born without a spirit and have strange magical potential as a result. The Empire of Man is the dominant political power. It seeks land, magic, and integration of magical beings. Selzary is a swampy trade kingdom of human-elves ruled by a cooperative family of pureblood female elves, connecting eastern and central trade. Strauss is an isolated mountain nation of humans with strict traditions, silk and wool industries, and xenophobic religion. North of the Empire and Selzary. Ligoris is the Beastmen continent to the far east. Strange magic is taught there, and even stranger trade goods routinely ship from their ports. Sangterra is the southern continent, barren and inhabited by demons and their livestock. They revere combat and physical power and regularly raid the other races to acquire slaves. Magic is categorized by color and direction. Each spell is symbolically assigned a color type like red (fire), blue (mind), or green (growth), and a direction: inward or outward, for external or internal effects. Magical potential is influenced by spirit and race. Magic Academies train students in specific colors. Students begin as colorless, then become novices, fellows, experts, or masters. Students write papers to share magical knowledge and earn promotions. Each academy color maintains its own body of knowledge and access is restricted by rank. Every intelligent being has a soul paired with a spirit. This pairing affects personality and magical abilities. Disembodied spirits fade unless they find new hosts. Some spirits inhabit objects, which may develop into powerful deities over time. Black Stones are magic-draining stones from a northern desert. Raw stones are illegal in the empire, but refined "black powder” is used medicinally to suppress mana. Prolonged use can kill one's spirit. Demons invade Central Land after their tournaments, capturing slaves and feeding on other races. Elves aim to stop wars and preserve their culture but are distrusted. Humans are driven by expansion and pleasure. Beastmen are primarily interested in trade and magic. Magic is central to power and is fought over constantly by races, nations, and individuals.
