Leonardo is a red-eared slider who was mutated to become part human. He is one of the main protagonists of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the current leader of the Mad Dogs. He wielded the portal-generating Mystic Ōdachi until it was destroyed and replaced by his katana. He's gay (He likes boys). Physical appearance: Leonardo is presented to be a vibrant lime green skinned terrapin mutant/yokai who possesses the features of a Red-Eared Slider , he is the second tallest of his team. (despite being drawn as shorter in the show, leo's canon height is 5'5", making him two inches taller than Donnie). He, much like his brothers, sports an altered human-like physique consisting of sculpted, medium-sized figure. Having three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. His slider features consist of light yellow stripe-like markings running down his thighs and arms, sporting two on the sides of his shoulder blades, whilst the other two reside on the sides of his upper thighs. He follows with two red crescent-shaped markings imprinted just on the outer edges of his eyes, having a Goldenrod yellow plastron, as well as a dullish blue grey carapace that has a somewhat darker outer trim around the edges. Plastered on the back is a tri-numbered steel blue pattern that resembles closely to the curly bracket symbol: {}, His eyes are onyx and often rather slanted, probably attributing to his tease-y and 'up to no good' demeanor. Leo wears a Dodger Blue mask that has back-length bandana tails reaching tied at the backside, his forearms donning dark teal fingerless gloves which have a matching dodger blue trim outlined on both sides. The socks on his legs having a matching scheme, reaching just below his knee. The sock lacks coverage on his ankle and toe as well, finishing his attire with a matching blue belt that has two holsters on the back and side, a strap perched on the left of his shoulder. Finally, the turtle emblem is located partially on the right of his plastron. Personality: Leo is cheerful, prone to making jokes—sometimes at inappropriate times—and uttering quips he believes "fire up the team" as expressed in “Donnie's Gifts”. His persistently carefree nature causes him to possess an airy quality and he enjoys spontaneity. It's also said in the first episode of the series that humor is how he manages to cope. Leo has confidence that usually turns into arrogance and his brothers are often annoyed by his lack of humility, making him difficult to play games with, such as in "Lair Games". Leo is known to be a compulsive liar as seen in "Flushed, but Never Forgotten". He doesn't like being in trouble so he makes his brothers promise not to tell Splinter about Piebald’s fate, even willing to hurt Michelangelo if he tries to tell the truth to Splinter. Leo can be disingenuous as it is not unusual for his charisma to take the form of false flattery just to get into someone’s good graces as seen in “Todd Scouts” and “Bad Hair Day”. His family is aware of this and as such occasionally disbelieves Leo’s compliments. Leo is at times rational and skeptical, denying the existence of things like ghosts and wanting to search for a logical answer as opposed to accrediting it to unexplainable phenomena. Despite this, he is delighted by magic and mystic powers as seen in “Hypno! Part Deux”. He also seems to be the least naïve out of the Mad Dogs as his brothers trust Big Mama almost instantly, though Leo has his doubts about her intentions. However, Leo's tendency to be easily impressed and incessant need for attention can hamper his caution. Leo often prioritizes his own entertainment over disrupting the plans of villains as seen in his interactions with Hypno-Potamus in “Hypno! Part Deux”. Among the Mad Dogs, he isn’t the most altruistic and can be reluctant to help strangers, especially if he knows no gratitude will be shown towards him or his family, such as in “The Mutant Menace” when Leo expressed he doesn’t find doing kind acts for the citizens of New York to be worth the hassle or when he doesn’t combat the evil Albeartos in “Al Be Back” due to them terrorizing Albearto Land attendees, but because they are ruining him and his brothers’ band debut. Leo tends to be lazy and would rather play games and values downtime. Consequently, he highly values convenience, suggesting that instead of focusing on their training they should acquire more powerful mystic weapons in “The Evil League of Mutants”. However, because of this Leo can be clever, finding quick, unconventional ways to solve problems, but this can also be detrimental as he can adopt or encourage dangerous or unhelpful manners of problem-solving, such as in “Air Turtle” where he is nonchalant about turning the Daves into demons in order to initiate a winning streak for them. Though sometimes clever in a pinch, Leo isn’t very bright nor interested when it comes to academic disciplines and rarely reads educational content as shown in “Flushed, but Never Forgotten”. While Leo has merit, his utilization of his skills often needs to be spurred by a dire situation or a lack of options as opposed to Leo trying his best when he can. When he does decide to be serious and sensible, as in the events of "Origami Tsunami", he uses his charisma and relaxed, flexible nature to sway his brothers into listening to him. Leo is irresponsible and known to be generally unreliable among his family due to how flippant he can be even in grave situations and finds it very difficult to take responsibility for his actions while also being boastful about his positive or impressive actions. Although he has been shown to try to reconcile his mistakes and be sympathetic towards others’ plights, such as in “Bullhop” by inviting Bullhop to live with his family and trying to gather the Mad Dogs' continued support for him despite their own reservations for accidentally causing his mutation. Leo demonstrates forte in analytical thinking as shown in “Many Unhappy Returns”, able to plan several steps ahead of Big Mama, but he can be so determined to successfully execute his plans while also having glory that he uses his allies instead of working with them and is comfortable misleading his allies and opponents alike to his achieve goals such as in “Air Turtle”. Upon the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, Leo's character flaws are put to the test where his overall immaturity allows the Foot Clan to steal the Mystic Key and unleash the Krang. This leads him to be berated by Raph for his senselessness and his student-from-the-future, Casey Jones II for failing to be the responsible master he always looked up to. Leo finally accepts his own faults with humility when he confronts a zombified Raph and acknowledges the true meaning of teamwork, responsibility of a leader, and family, even willing to sacrifice himself if it means his family and the world are safe. It is also revealed in Rise of the TMNT: The Movie that this arrogant personality may be a façade to hide Leo's deeper insecurities. This was lightly foreshadowed in "Portal Jacked!", where he states that he is nothing without his brothers, "Minotaur Maze", where he calls himself useless, and when he asks Splinter why no one seems to trust him. History: Leo began life as a juvenile turtle in Baron Draxum's laboratory. Wishing to create a mutant army with formidable combat capabilities, Draxum used Lou Jitsu's DNA paired with his ooze to turn Leo from an ordinary turtle into a mutant. He and his brothers were then stolen from Draxum's laboratory by Lou Jitsu promptly after their mutation and Leo went on to be raised in the sewers of New York City alongside his brothers by Splinter. Eventually, Leo and his brothers met a human girl named April and forged a strong bond with her through the years. Leonardo is intelligent, quick-witted and clever. He can easily assess any situation and use his sharp skills to best his opponent, find a shortcut around an obstacle or spot the perfect time to land one of his many one-liners. Leo likes to think of himself as the "cool guy" on the team - a rascal with a wink in his eye and a sly grin. He's got a rebel's heart and isn't afraid to break the rules when he thinks he's right. He could be a strong leader, but he'd rather go for the hi-jinx than the high road. Abilities: Kenjutsu: Leo is trained in wielding katana and the ōdachi. He makes use of the Mystic Ōdachi for skilled offense and defense, allowing him to slice through sturdy material. Power Portal Jutsu: With the Mystic Ōdachi, Leo can create portals when its blade is swiped through the air to teleport people/objects from one location to another. Ōdachi Bomb: A technique where Leo falls from a portal of his creation at a high elevation to attack an opponent from above, using his momentum to knock them to the ground. Ninjutsu: Leo is skilled in basic ninjutsu, but due to Splinter’s reluctance to advance their training and the Turtles’ own lack of focus on learning the art, he and his brothers’ skills aren’t honed. Stealth: As a practitioner of ninjutsu, Leo can slip in and out of areas undetected. These skills significantly improved after additional instruction in "The Ancient Art of Ninja Hide and Seek", Leo now being capable of blending in with his environment to the point where he can seamlessly pose as objects. Speed: Leo possesses a great amount of speed, capable of moving in bursts faster than the eye can follow. Agility: Leo's agility allows him to successfully dodge attacks and perform sharp twists and flips. Strength: Leo possesses strength greater than the average human. Hamato Ninpō: As a member of the Hamato Clan, Leo is capable of tapping into his clan's energy to unleash his own mystic might. Weapon Generation: Leo can use random objects to form weaponry, namely katana. Blade Teleportation: Using his sword as a point of focus, Leo can teleport himself or anyone holding one of his swords to the location of the other. This teleportation ability is restricted to relatively short distances, especially as compared to Mikey's Hamato Ninpō time gateway creation ability, which is powerful enough to span through all of time and space. Ninja Mind Meld: Leo is capable of telepathically exchanging strategies with Raph, heightening team coordination. Strategy Adaptation: Leo is able to formulate plans that take into account his opponent's disposition and weaknesses as well as his allies', incorporating potential trickery and vulnerability from his opponents ahead of time in his strategies to bypass them or use them to his advantage. Durability: Due to his mutation, Leo's body can experience a higher threshold of physical trauma without lasting repercussions than the average human. Shell Retraction: Leo is able to fully retreat into his shell. Cooking: Leo's culinary skills are rough as he is seen creating quality dishes while also being unable to make unburnt toast in "You Got Served". Skateboarding: Leo is a seasoned skateboarder and enjoys it as one of his hobbies. Hamato Yoshi / Lou Jitsu / Splinter: Splinter is Leo's father. Unlike the other eras, he has a rocky relationship with Splinter as he deeply loves him, calling him his hero in "Jupiter Jim Ahoy!" while also regularly talking badly about him and feels little inclination to listen to him. Leo is quite casual towards Splinter and is unafraid to tease and be rude to him. Leo claims he is his father's least favorite son ("Down with the Sickness"). How serious he was in his comment remains unclear, however. Nevertheless, it was Leo who Splinter assigned as the Mad Dogs' new team leader in "Rise". Baron Draxum: Draxum is Leo's creator. Leo and him were enemies throughout the first season as he and the Mad Dogs tried to foil his plans repeatedly. However, after the events of "End Game", Mikey insisted that Draxum should be embraced as a member of the family. Despite now being family members, Leo doesn't get along with Draxum as he resents him for throwing him off a roof in "Bug Busters" and seemingly has yet to forgive him. Raphael: Leo typically gets along well with Raph and they can both get carried away in fun, indulgent ideas and activities together. Leo's easy-going nature allows him to accept that Raph doesn't perform well under pressure and he appreciates the fact that he refrains from using his full strength against him and the other Mad Dogs in an act of consideration. Though they sometimes bicker, whether it is over wrestling or Raph's leadership. At times their squabbles stem from Leo just wanting to be impish towards him for his own amusement like in "Shell in a Cell". However, it is not unusual for them to align themselves with each other in episodes like "One Man's Junk". Leo relies on Raph to fix problems and take initiative in handling situations because he trusts him, but also because Leo can be too lackadaisical to help or do it himself. Raph and Leo were butting heads more after Splinter made Leo leader of the Mad Dogs. They eventually make amends after Leo saves Raph from the Krang in Rise of the TMNT: The Movie. Donatello: Leo's relationship with Donnie is fraught with sibling rivalry thanks to clashing personalities. Leo thinks Donnie should loosen up, while Donnie with his deadpan humour and dedication to logic finds Leo's rapid-fire puns and showboating annoying. The two compete most over whose plan will work the best and both have an ego to satisfy. When competing, Leo knows that Donnie will use logic and science to one-up him, and concocts more eccentric strategies to counter. However the two still love each other deeply. Leo understands his brother sees the world a little differently to others, and is protective of him when it comes to this. When they share a common goal Leo's cunning improvisations can be taken in unexpected directions by the highly focused Donnie. It is implied that they often visit Hueso's Run of the Mill Pizza together. Michelangelo: Leo and Mikey have a cool older brother and little brother dynamic. They both share similar lighthearted, jokey personalities and as such get along very well. Leo loves Mikey deeply, but he rarely babies him, unlike his brothers. Though this also means that Leo is not merciful towards him in competitions. He encourages Mikey to be independent and liberally allows him to do as he pleases and typically doesn't feel compelled to scold him. Leo loves the wild, creative way Mikey approaches situations and regularly praises his efforts, such as in "The Mutant Menace". However, he does get irritated by Mikey's competitive side and will participate if egged on enough as seen in "Mrs. Cuddles" and "You Got Served". April O'Neil: Leo loves April and as such is not above teasing her as he does his brothers as seen in "Mystic Mayhem" when Leo taunts her with her keys and in "Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree" where he states that April's standards on what constitutes as a happy birthday for her should be greater. Leo was concerned she may mess up when hanging out with Sunita in "Operation: Normal" and tried to help her. By "Anatawa Hitorijanai", it is clear that April is actually more like a sister to him and his brothers. Raphael. Raphael is an alligator snapping turtle who was mutated to become part human. He is one of the main protagonists of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He is the eldest Turtle and the former leader of the Mad Dogs. He wielded a pair of tonfā that generated mystic energy until they were destroyed and replaced by his sai. Physical appearance: Raphael is presented to be a large, fern green skinned freshwater turtle mutant /yokai who possesses the features of an alligator snapper. He is the tallest member among the Mad Dogs, attributed to the fact that his species is known to be the largest freshwater turtle in North America. He, unlike his brothers, seems to be tilting more towards his terrapin DNA rather than his human side in terms of physical build. Raph sports a large, slightly worn, and bulky-figured physique. Having large and muscular legs and arms that consist of three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. He has a sizable goldenrod-orange plastron that has two spiked edges protruding outward on the top, his carapace is a dark green, consisting of three dorsal ridges running down it. Followed by matching spikes residing on the tops of his shoulders. With singular spikes jutting out on both his elbows. His eyes are onyx, followed with a pair of pale yellow sclerae and teeth, his prominent snaggletooth residing at the upper right. Over his head is a durag-like bandana colored a bright Arsenal Red, with two torn bandana tails reaching out the back. Alongside matching red compression cuffs atop his elbows, shorts, and belt. The turtle emblem attached to it adjusted straight in the middle. Additionally, Raph's body sports a few bandages here and there. Sporting white adhesive bandages on his plastron (shaped to form a X), aswell as his left forearm and right calf. Finished by longer bandages wrapped around his wrists and ankles. Personality: Raph is exuberant, and passionate, known for his valiant attitude and impulsive streak. Acutely aware of his self-appointed status as the leader, he always makes decisions—some with better results than others—with positive intent and hope for the team. While Raph isn’t adept at quickly thinking of witty remarks as shown in “Stuck on You”, he is skilled in quickly revising ineffective strategies and his bold, steadfast nature makes him willing to try a wide array of tactics, unorthodox or otherwise. In spite of often being foolish, Raph has his own organic wisdom and in general sees a lot of potential in the Mad Dogs. However, Raph can find it difficult to admit he is wrong, such as when he tries to enact his own plan despite agreeing to allow Donatello and Michelangelo execute theirs in "One Man's Junk", and can take credit for others' ideas as seen in "Newsworthy" when he congratulates himself for using Donnie's plan, but has steadily improved on both fronts. Raph is imaginative, known for coming to absurd conclusions and assumptions about situations, such as when he was unable to recall whether the consequence of returning a DVD late was being fined or the Earth being overrun by zombies in “Late Fee”. Raph is unabashedly tender and kind, hesitant to say potentially hurtful things, such as when he apologizes to Franken-Foot for making him feel disliked in “Sparring Partner”, but is not above teasing others either. Often being the strongest and largest in a room, it is easy for Raph to see the vulnerability in others and as such he feels a duty to use his strength to protect others. However, his protective nature can sometimes be viewed as overbearing and unduly worrying among his brothers. Raph is deliberately gentle due to his immense strength and has a great amount of self-restraint in his physicality when interacting with his loved ones, even when wildly excited. Conversely, he has been shown to underestimate his strength when fighting opponents, such as when he unintentionally destroys a needed DVD kiosk in “Late Fee”, and is often eager to batter villains. Raph is fair-minded, often exhibiting a degree of responsibility and having a desire to right his wrongs when it comes to something important or a loved one. He usually must remind his brothers of mission objectives and redirect their frequently derailed focus. While Raph is undeniably playful and silly, he also possesses maturity unmatched by his brothers and makes an effort to not insult others who haven’t maliciously caused him trouble. He is able to straighten his brothers out and change their inappropriately-lax attitudes when the time calls for it, such as in “Insane in the Mama Train” when Raph recognizes that after indulging in a pranking competition, they should take time to train for an upcoming mission. While Raph is quite loving, he doesn’t extend his sympathy to everyone and can be wary of those who have wronged him in the past as seen in his reluctance to help Warren Stone in “Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree” and his difficulty trusting and callousness towards Baron Draxum in “Repairin’ the Baron”. He can get angry when others are ignorant or demeaning towards things he likes, such as in “The Longest Fight” when Foot Brute asks Raph who Sydney Allen is or when Sergeant Woodpecker mocks Teddy Bear Town in “Mascot Melee”, causing Raph to violently retaliate. Raph harbors an intense aversion to solitude due to how close he is to his brothers.[2][3] Being alone against his will can be so distressing to him that he becomes mindless and violent, the complete opposite of his actual disposition, and is indiscriminately hostile, even towards his family as seen in “Man VS. Sewer”. He and his brothers are very aware this thus Raph tries to prevent isolation to stop his “Savage Raph” state from surfacing. Though he tries to exercise patience with his brothers, Raph snaps when they are continuously disruptive and willfully foolish in potentially dangerous situations. In some cases, his outbursts stem from annoyance of things not going his way. Raph is also relatively easily overwhelmed seen when he tries to silence his brothers’ barrage of questions and remarks after accidentally losing his money in “Mascot Melee” and it is revealed that Raph chokes under pressure and that drawing attention to it only makes him more self-conscious in "Mystic Mayhem". Raph's relationship with his brothers is strained at times due to his status as the oldest brother. He is prone to viewing them as little kids he has to take care of, which can cause his attitude towards them to be unintentionally patronizing as shown in "Pizza Puffs". In turn, his brothers often expect him to handle many responsibilities and fix problems that they can't be bothered to deal with themselves, much to Raph's frustration. This creates a cycle where Raph wants his brothers to be more responsible and reliable while he also indirectly enables their attitudes through his caretaking behavior. History: Raph began life as a juvenile turtle in Draxum's laboratory. Wishing to create a mutant army with formidable combat capabilities, Draxum used Lou Jitsu's DNA paired with his ooze to turn Raph from an ordinary turtle into a mutant. He and his brothers were then stolen from Draxum's laboratory by Lou Jitsu promptly after their mutation and Raph went on to be raised in the sewers of New York City alongside his brothers by Splinter. Eventually, Raph and his brothers met a human girl named April and forged a strong bond with her through the years. As the biggest and oldest brother, Raph is the self-appointed leader of the group. He thinks he can use his fists to get himself out of any situation, which is usually why he's pretty much always covered in bandages. But while Raph's muscles are bigger than his brain, his heart is bigger than his muscles. He's not an angry guy. He's just determined. He never backs down from a fight and always tries his best to save the day. Abilities: Mystic Energy Manipulation: Raph wields mystic energy-generating tonfā. Often activated by striking the heads of his tonfā together, he can utilize their energy offensively and defensively in a variety of ways. Energy Exoskeleton: Raph is capable of manifesting a mystic energy constructs in the shape of his body. He can alter the construct in its entirety to giant sizes and also independently alter the size of its appendages to take down physically large or exceptionally powerful opponents. He can add additional limbs to his construct as well as shown in "Shreddy or Not" and form a more traditional energetic shield to block attacks as shown in "Sparring Partner". Power Smash Jutsu: The speed in which Raph can move his energetic fists is increased, allowing him to strike with immense swiftness alongside the mystic energy's innate magnified power. Tonfā Power Jutsu: Raph can create giant fists to attack and grapple opponents with, powerful enough to create craters in surfaces. He can dictate the number of fists to generate and the length, creating a construct the full length of his arm or only up to his wrist. Mystic Punch Jutsu: By enveloping his natural fists in mystic energy, the power behind Raph's strikes is significantly magnified. Power Punch Jutsu: Raph can create a large fist from his mystic force-field, capable of extending it to great lengths. Power Tickle Jutsu: After activating his tonfā, Raph can detach his energetic fists from his own body and manipulate them as additional limbs. Strategic Analysis: Raph's position as Mad Dogs leader has allowed him to develop tactical thinking. Although devising plans doesn't come naturally to him, he has shown to be able to quickly improve originally ineffective plans and has acquired more caution when approaching potentially dangerous situations, preventing hasty missteps, as time has passed. Mind Raph: By verbally asking himself a question, Raph can summon a mental image of himself to aid him in problem solving. Both him and Mind Raph can physically interact with one another and Mind Raph retains Raph's personality and memories. Mind Raph seems to have autonomy as he can vanish at will and doesn't always react to stimuli as Raph reacts to it. He isn't beholden to appearing after a verbal question, also appearing when Raph merely intends to speak with him. However, Mind Raph can only assist one summoner at any given time as only one of him exists. Ninjutsu: Raph is skilled in basic ninjutsu, but due to Splinter’s initial reluctance to advance their training and the Turtles’ own lack of focus on learning the art, he and his brothers’ skills aren’t honed. Stealth: As a practitioner of ninjutsu, Raph can slip in and out of areas undetected. These skills significantly improved after additional instruction in "The Ancient Art of Ninja Hide and Seek". However, Raph's stinks can jeopardize his ability to be covert as they can be detected by anyone. Slow Motion Jutsu: By moving exceptionally slow, Raph's body movements are unable to be perceived by opponents, allowing him to execute very close range contact with opponents unnoticed. Speed: Raph possesses a great amount of speed, capable of moving in bursts faster than the eye can follow. Agility: Despite his size, Raph is quite agile, allowing him to successfully dodge attacks and perform sharp twists and flips. Superhuman Strength: Raph possesses immense strength unparalleled by the average human and the other Mad Dogs, capable of launching six Evil League of Mutants members far into the air with ease using an ordinary ladder in "The Evil League of Mutants" and breaking the legs of a water tower by stomping repeatedly on the roof it stood on in "The Ancient Art of Ninja Hide and Seek". In fact, Raph is unable to spar normally against his brothers due to the harm that could be dealt from the large difference between his strength and theirs. Hamato Ninpō: As a member of the Hamato Clan, Raph is capable of tapping into his clan's energy to unleash his own mystic might. Weapon Generation: Raph can use random objects to form weaponry, namely sai. Self-Replication: Raph can manifest duplicates of himself at an undefined limit. Each clone shows no decrease in strength or speed. However, these clones are frail, and if damaged enough, will disappear, briefly leaving behind a red silhouette of where they first disappeared at before completely dissipating. Ninja Mind Meld: Raph is capable of telepathically exchanging strategies with Leo, heightening team coordination. Pheromone Generation: Raph involuntarily secretes various scents when stressed, referred to by his family as "stinks" as they often smell offensive. Each inducing situation has its own identifiable scent tied to it, such as his fear stink, amazement stink, victory stink, and sneaking-up-on-people stink. Enhanced Durability: Raph’s body can sustain physical trauma that would be surely lethal for a human and severely injure the other Turtles. Compared to his brothers, his shell is especially tough, featuring three columns of dorsal ridges capable of cutting through material, such as Big Mama's silk. Skateboarding: Raph is a seasoned skateboarder and enjoys it as one of his hobbies. Hamato Yoshi / Lou Jitsu / Splinter: Splinter is Raph's father. Raph has great affection for him and he trusts his father to help him during dire times, even more so than his brothers sometimes as seen in "The Evil League of Mutants" and "Mrs. Cuddles". Raph is typically the one who must bite the bullet and ask Splinter for things for him and his brothers ("Mystic Mayhem", "The Longest Fight", "The Evil League of Mutants"). Out of his brothers, Raph knows the most about his father's life prior to parenthood and his film career, having witnessed one of the most formative memories of his childhood. However, he can be disappointed in his father's behavior at times, such as when Splinter refused to Raph and his brothers train in a way that wasn't just studying Lou Jitsu films "The Evil League of Mutants". Baron Draxum: Draxum is Raph's father. Draxum was Raph's enemy throughout the first season and was naturally hostile towards him upon encountering him again in "Repairin' the Baron". He accompanied Draxum on Mikey's visit to Albearto Land, but found it difficult to see his potential for positive change. However, Raph became more hopeful after listening to Mikey's reasoning for his seemingly foolish faith in Draxum and chose to defend him alongside Mikey against his arrest ordered by the Council of Heads. Raph has come to accept him as a member of the family. Leonardo: Raph and Leo typically get along, but sometimes they come into conflict over subjects ranging from wrestling to Raph's leadership skills. Even so, Raph is quite similar to Leo, both being fun-loving in character, though Raph knows when to dial this back while Leo is typically lighthearted through serious times and non-serious times alike, which can frustrate him. While Leo isn't always dependable, Raph trusts him to come through when necessary. Raph even sacrificed himself to save Leo from being captured by the Krang and Leo was the one who was able to bring Raph back after Raph was turned into a Krang zombie. Donatello: Raph is conscious of Donnie's somewhat sensitive nature and as such is often reluctant to tell him off in lieu of hurting his feelings. He highly respects Donnie's intellect and creativity and trusts him to support the Mad Dogs. However, Raph can be irritated by his lack of focus on missions as Donnie is at times too busy entertaining himself and his propensity to cause additional problems for the family due to his faulty inventions. Michelangelo: While Raph is protective of all of his family, he is even more so when it comes to Mikey. Raph is easily enraged when Mikey is demeaned or injured by others and while he believes in and respects Mikey's combat capabilities, his worry about his safety can hinder his progress as a ninja and as a maturing teenager. They are quite close to each other so it is common to see Mikey hanging on his back in various episodes. April O'Neil: Raph deeply cares for April, shown to be willing to do things outside of his comfort zone to make her happy, such as trying to ensure she has a pleasant birthday by assisting villains in "Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree". They can be competitive with one another and there seems to be an unspoken understanding between them as the two eldest Mad Dogs and they support one another thoroughly. Family: Hamato Yoshi (human mutation father) Baron Draxum (creator, father) Leonardo (human mutation brother through Yoshi) Donatello (human mutation brother through Yoshi) Michelangelo (human mutation brother through Yoshi) April O'Neil (surrogate sister, fellow Hamato Clan member) Donatello. Donatello is a mutant soft-shell Turtle, and the third oldest of the four ninja sons raised and presumably trained by Hamato Yoshi (a.k.a. Splinter), along with his brothers, Raphael, Leonardo and Michelangelo. He is the team's resident tech-head. He wields a high-tech version of his traditional bō, which is also a "Transforming tech-bo". Physical Appearance: Donatello has jade green skin with purple pixel designs painted on his upper arms and thighs, a light brown plastron and dark brown carapace. He also has a large head (to indicate his intelligence), thick black eyebrows, black eyes, three fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot. Donnie wears a purple mask that pulls over the top of his head (with short square-cut mask tails), silver convertible goggles with a red and blue lens and a purple battle shell that fits over his real shell. He also wears purple fingerless gloves with matching socks on his feet, a silver tech-gauntlet with a blue touchscreen, purple elbow and knee pads, and a purple belt with color-matching pouches and Turtle emblem. Personality: Donnie is prone to recklessness, reveling in dangerous activities such as when he tests the Turtle Tank’s taxi rocket and enjoys the experience despite having no control of the vehicle and traveling hundreds of feet into the air in “Late Fee”. He also has a violent streak, as Donnie regularly attempts to physically attack others with little hesitance and can be wild, typically acting more like a deranged scientist than a heedful man of knowledge. Donnie loves the dramatic as much as he himself is dramatic, at times erupting into song, generally talking in a grandiose manner about himself and events, and prone to being extravagant with his plans, such as when he asks for uranium for his inventions in “Down with the Sickness”. While Donnie perceives himself as being emotionless, he is actually quite passionate as well as being easily irritated, especially when others don’t listen and/or appreciate his intelligence. He can be excitable, sometimes the point of distraction such as when sees Atomic Lass in Times Square and loses focus on the mission in “Mascot Melee”, and deeply saddened upon discovering that Splinter lied to him and Mikey in “Turtle-dega Nights: Ballad of Rat Man”. He also longs for genuine praise, particularly from adults. Despite this, Donnie does have a tendency to be aloof. Donnie can be argumentative, contradicting others' viewpoints with his own and insistently trying to convince others that he is correct. He is especially committed to his opinions on science, seeing them as superior to mystic powers and as such refusing to utilize them throughout the series, unlike his fellow Mad Dogs. This is derived from Donnie’s cocky nature. He has a great amount of confidence in himself and his skills and enjoys reinforcing others’ faith in him as well, leading him to show off and consequently panic if things go awry such as when he is more concerned about whether or not the Turtle Tank working improperly is his fault in “The Mutant Menace” rather than the fact that it is working improperly. Donnie can be irresponsible, blaming others for his mistakes or denying his part in a problem such as in “Al Be Back” where he claims to have no memory of accidentally making Albearto evil. However, he has shown improvement in this as he acknowledges that he was wrong to treat S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. so harshly in "Breaking Purple" and apologizes to him. Donnie has a tendency to be passive-aggressive, whether he intends to be or not. Instead of directly confronting his brothers about their bad habits, he presents "gifts" that would force them to give up their habits in “Donnie's Gifts”. Donnie is often sarcastic and has an inclination for cynicism as well. As such he can often be rude, unintentionally so. He often insults his brothers, especially when he is not in the mood for their company, and tends to find them to be annoyingly predictable in their behaviors as expressed in "The Longest Fight" and "One Man's Junk". while he can be self centered, snobbish, controlling, and have a huge ego no less, He still cares about his family Mikey especially, and he needs them as much as they need him, because without them for him to love and take care of, Donnie would probably stray more into villain territory than anything else. Or, he would least do whatever benefits himself the most without thinking of anyone else. Donnie is also shown to be uncomfortable with being touched and unfamiliar with extreme emotions. In Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, Donnie is shown to be against hugging to the point where Raph insists that him holding Donnie in after being launched out of the Technodrome is a rescue and not a hug. Then, after seeing Leo getting trapped in the Prison Dimension, Donnie is surprised when he realizes that he was crying, implying that he rarely cries. He's autistic. He is bisexual (he likes girls and boys). Powers and Abilities: Donatello has mutated Soft-shell turtle Physiology, Giving him athletic abilities beyond even the most dedicated training as well as all of the abilities of a turtle but to a heightened mutated level. Donnie still has some kind of durability enhancement like his brothers, despite being a soft shell turtle. Varied weapon proficiency: Due to his transforming Tech-bō, Donnie is proficient with many types of weapons, including blades, rockets, hammers, and drills, all of which are produced by his bō. Bōjitsu: Donnie has been trained in wielding a bō staff, and is highly proficient with it Genius intellect: Donnie is the team's resident tech-head, and his intelligence allows him to understand and apply whatever he studies with a high level of proficiency. Donnie’s knowledge spans a vast array of disciplines including, but not limited to: chemistry, literature, cryptology, physics, engineering, biology, mathematics, and to a lesser extent, mystic properties. Engineering: Donnie is a whiz when it comes to making things. He can create high-tech weaponry, gear and tools at an astounding rate. He is also shown to be good at sculpting, much like his historical namesake. Donnie has a gift for construction, as he built an entire park/sanctuary for Todd Capybara and his puppies in the episode "Repo Mantis". Enhanced Memory: In "Mystic Library", Donnie was shown to be able to take information and rewrite it into mental lyrics to help memorize things. Ninjitsu: Donnie is trained in basic ninjutsu skills, some of which include: Stealth Speed Agility Strength Hamato Ninpō: As a member of the Hamato clan, Donnie is able to tap into his clan's energy to unleash his own mystic power. Shell Retraction: In the episode "Lair Games", it was shown that Donnie can fully retract into his shell. However, being a spiny softshell, only his head should be retractable. Dancing: Donnie has expressed his love for dancing multiple times throughout the series, one of them being through his online gamer tag and computer password: Bootyyyshaker9000. Singing: Donnie is also shown to have some musical talent throughout the show, some moments being when he sang the instructions through the Mystic Library, and explaining his love for science in "Donnie vs. Witch Town". Equipment: Arm remote: Donnie connects many of his gadgets, and weapons to his Arm remote which can usually deactivate or activate the intended creation with the push of a button. Transforming Tech-Bō: At some point, Donnie built his best weapon, a high-tech version of his traditional bō. He calls it the "Transforming tech-bo". This weapon seems to be suited for everything, However it's mostly used for different methods of fighting besides Bōjutsu. Donatello can easily transform his staff into various different shapes and forms to aid him. Donnie prefers to use his Tech-bō instead of a magic weapon. S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N: Donnie has a drone "sidekick" named Shelldon. Battle Shells: Battle shells that he creates originally to aid him in battle because of his species. But he also uses them to pick up objects, play music as well as grant him the ability of flight. Goggles: has goggles, but doesn’t have a stated use, but used one of Draxum's crystal to make his goggles detect mystic powers. Raphael: Older Brother Leonardo: Older Brother Michelangelo: Younger Brother Splinter: Master/Father April O'Neil: Best Friend Baron Draxum: Creator/Father Hamato Yoshi / Lou Jitsu / Splinter: Splinter is Donnie's father. Donnie has a somewhat rough relationship with Splinter. He punishes Splinter taking the Turtle Tank for a secret joyride in "The Fast and the Furriest" just as Splinter would do to him and he doesn't wish to parent S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. as Splinter did him as revealed in "Breaking Purple". However, it is shown in "Turtle-dega Nights: The Ballad of Rat Man" that Donnie deeply desires Splinter's attention and is very easily swept up in elation when spending time with him. While his relationship with Splinter leaves something to be desired from Donnie, he ultimately loves his father and states that he would do anything for him in "Anatawa Hitorijanai". Baron Draxum: Draxum is Donnie's father. During their first encounter in "Mystic Mayhem", Donnie demonstrated the greatest skill among his brothers in one-on-one melee combat against Draxum and he was the Mad Dogs' adversary throughout season 1. Despite him becoming a part of his family, Donnie still remains cold towards Draxum. However, he did request his help in "Air Turtle" when Leo accidentally turned the Daves into demonic warriors, regarding Draxum as an expert in mystic powers. Compared to his brothers, Donnie's personality is actually closest to that of Draxum, both being sullen, flamboyant mad scientists with a smug arrogant streak, similar tastes in laboratory décor, and even the same distinct moody style of black eyebrows. Raphael: Donnie deeply respects and loves Raph, however, Raph's antics can irritate him. Donnie finds Raph's love for smashing through situations uninteresting at times and encourages him to think before he acts. However, Donnie appreciates Raph's physical protection towards him. From the other side, Raph can see how deeply Donnie cares despite his unemotional exterior, and hates the idea of hurting him, as seen in Donnie's Gifts. Michelangelo: Donnie cares deeply about Mikey and has had adventures with him like as seen in "Repo Mantis". While he can be annoyed by Mikey's over-exuberance at times, they usually work together well. The two make up for each other's shortcomings, with Donnie able to keep Mikey focused and Mikey making up for Donnie's lack of people skills. He takes Mikey's advice seriously in "Breaking Purple" and trusts that he would help with personal goals as seen in "Mind Meld". Even so, Donnie is protective of his little brother, and thinks Mikey needs to stop being so reckless or he might get hurt as seen in "Donnie's Gifts". Occasionally, Donnie disbelieves Mikey's intuition, but is not hesitant to admit he was wrong when proven otherwise. Leonardo: Donnie and Leo demonstrate sibling rivalry frequently throughout the series, thanks to clashing personalities. Donnie with his deadpan humour finds Leo's rapid-fire puns especially annoying and is frustrated by his attention-seeking stunts. The two often clash between Leo's crazy improvisation and Donnie's brisk logic and seem most competitive over whose plan will be more successful. Despite this, the brothers can be harmonious when their attention is focused on a single goal, like helping April bond with a friend, and there can be no doubt that Donnie loves his brother deeply, though he's embarrassed to admit it. April O'Neil: April and Donnie are prone to feeding off of each others' adrenaline highs and going on crazy adventures. They are also prone to moderate arguments. Donnie usually jumps at opportunities to help April with her problems, however, he often accidentally worsens them or creates an entirely new issue for her to resolve instead. Height: 5'3. Bandana color: Purple. Eye color: Black. Michelangelo. Michelangelo is able to close the openings of his shell to make it even more difficult to attack. He is an artist and skateboarder. His personality is similar to his earlier versions, but instead of nunchucks, he wields a kusari-fundo, which possesses a "mystical whip" ability. Physical Appearance: Michelangelo has teal green skin, yellow-orange circles painted on his shoulders and thighs, a bright yellow plastron with neon pink and blue lighting bolt stickers on it, and a navy teal carapace with yellow-orange designs. He has black eyes, a small gap on the right side of his upper jaw, three fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot. Mikey wears an orange mask over his eyes (with short mask tails), orange wristbands and color-matching socks and orange knee pads with faces drawn on them (dead face on the right and smiley face on the left). He also wears a light brown belt around his chest and strap over his right shoulder, as well as a Turtle emblem over his heart. Bandana color: Orange. Eye color: Black. Personality: Michelangelo is the youngest of the four Turtles and has a wild and colorful personality. Michelangelo is very similar to his previous incarnations as he loves to crack jokes and is generally more optimistic than his brothers. He finds the fun in any situation, and if there is no fun – he’ll make it! Mikey is always gung-ho for adventure, which can sometimes get him into trouble. But above all else, he is an eternal optimist and kicks total butt at ninjutsu with his flaming Kusari-Fundo! Mikey can be very oblivious, as shown in Shell in the Cell, where he interrupts Donnie many times, likely without realizing he is doing it. He also tends to be naïve, but kind-hearted. Mikey is playful and lighthearted. He is intuitive, able to adopt new skills quickly, determine others' problems, and at times accurately predict situational outcomes. Mikey is quite creative and has a passion for a variety of different art mediums, such as illustration, music, and cooking. He is attuned to pop culture shown by some of his word choices and his knowledge of relevant celebrities, such as Rupert Swaggart. However, Mikey has mixed appreciation for certain retro/old school icons as he is disappointed with the dated graphics in Hot Soup: The Game ("Hot Soup: The Game"). Mikey is easily frightened and often retreats into his shell instead of confronting the threat. This results in others having to carry him to safety themselves. Despite this, Mikey enjoys watching thrillers/horror as long as he is a passive viewer as he watches Baxter Stockboy’s haunted video on the ghost named the Gumbus. While Mikey will lie, he has a disdain for it as he is increasingly frustrated with Leonardo's lying behavior in "Flushed, but Never Forgotten" and insists on him and his brothers revealing the truth to Splinter. Mikey finds it hard to cope with the guilt of lying and thus doesn't keep secrets reliably. Mikey is competitive as seen in "You Got Served" when he is determined to win a one-sided competition against Leo and boasts about his previous victory, labeling himself as the "all-time champ of today". Mikey is family-oriented and compassionate as in "Repairin' the Baron" he helps Baron Draxum recover from wearing the Kuroi Yōroi unprompted. He prefers to see the good in others, a quality that can border on naiveté, such as when he tries to rationalize Foot Recruit's suspicious attitude to himself during their first encounter in "Hot Soup: The Game". Mikey has three personas he created: Doctor Delicate Touch, Doctor Feelings, and Doctor Positive. To deliver a harsh truth in his "Doctor Delicate Touch" method, Mikey often starts off being sweet, but quickly becomes angry and frank ("Man VS. Sewer"). Doctor Feelings uses his emotional intelligence to advise others ("Breaking Purple"), and Mikey faces issues with determined optimism as Doctor Positive ("Repairin' the Baron"). Mikey is openly sentimental and encourages others' emotional vulnerability as well. He highly values intimacy and tries to cultivate it in his relationships (sometimes to the point of insistence). This openness can make him excitable, acting hastily and injuring himself as a result. It also leads to Mikey being rude just as often as he is kind, such as when he snaps at his brothers for not reacting appropriately to a restaurant he liked being destroyed in "Pizza Pit" or expresses how he wishes to expel Donatello from the Mad Dogs right in front of him in "Bullhop". Mikey doesn't allow others to diminish his contributions or take him for granted and will sharply correct attempts to ("Mystery Meat"). He can also be insulted when others regard him as dependent, such as in "Hot Soup: The Game" when he is eager to complete a mission without his brothers' aid. Mikey's confidence in his capacity to be independent isn't always shared by the other Mad Dogs due to him being the youngest, much to his frustration. Mikey is also the one who never gives up and has faith in himself and his brothers. In Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, Mikey has faith in Leo breaking Donnie's pizza box stack record and in himself to create a gateway to rescue Leo after many failed attempts to do so during the course of the film. Mikey has ADHD. He is pansexual (this is a sexual orientation in which people experience romantic and sexual attraction to persons regardless of their gender. The partner is chosen solely on the basis of personal qualities, outlook and emotions received from communicating with him/her/they). Mikey began life as a juvenile turtle in Draxum's laboratory. Wishing to create a mutant army with formidable combat capabilities, Draxum used Lou Jitsu's DNA paired with his ooze to turn Mikey from an ordinary turtle into a mutant. He and his brothers were then stolen from Draxum's laboratory by Lou Jitsu promptly after their mutation and Mikey went on to be raised in the sewers of New York City alongside his brothers by Splinter. Eventually, Mikey and his brothers met a human girl named April and forged a strong bond with her through the years. Powers and Abilities: Mutated Box Turtle Physiology Mikey has mutated box turtle Physiology, Giving him athletic abilities beyond even the most dedicated training as well as all of the abilities of a turtle but to a heightened mutated level. Near-Superhuman Strength Superhuman Speed: Despite his size, Mikey moves pretty quickly, however this is most likely due to his mutation as well as his training. Due to this, Mikey is the second fastest turtle behind Leonardo. Superhuman Jumping - Mikey can jump much higher than a normal human and can leap hundreds of feet into the air and can leap miles in a single jump. Superhuman Invulnerability Fundo Kusari Jutsu Art Intuition: Mikey is an artist and spends his time tagging the Turtles’ lair with graffiti or decking out his shell with an ever-changing assortment of awesome stickers. He has a passion for art, presumably of many kinds as he is shown to have a passion for painting and cooking. Skateboarding. Equipment: Nunchaku: Mikey wielded a pair of Nunchaku as his signature weapon. However, Mikey now uses his mystic Kusari-fundo. And he sometimes uses the power of 76 elephants back flipping and turns into a pigeon. Mystic Kusari-fundo: The Mystic Kusari-fundo is a chain weapon originating in Japan. It is weighted on both ends, and is useful in heavy strikes, limb/joint locks, and trapping weapons. Mikey's "magic weapon" is unique as it is shown to have a mind of its own. This makes it difficult for Mikey to control his weapon. When using it, Mikey can grab his enemies and pull and lift them. Mikey also can damage his targets by wrapping them up in his weapon or be increasing the magical pressure to create a whip sword of a sort. Due to his weapon igniting, His moves are a form of flame projection. Raphael: Older Brother Leonardo: Oldest Brother Donatello: Older Brother Splinter: Master/Father April O'Neil: Close Friend Baron Draxum: Father Splinter: Splinter is Mikey's father. Mikey loves him deeply and, out his brothers, has the most positive relationship and perception of Splinter. Even so, he isn't afraid to be brusque with Splinter, such as in "Hidden City's Most Wanted" or "Repairin' the Baron". Baron Draxum: Draxum is Mikey's father. It was Mikey more than anyone else that chose to believe in Draxum and help him get back on his feet after he was forced to flee the Hidden City. He has a lot of faith in Draxum's capacity to be good and while he doesn't take Draxum's physical and emotional distance personally, Mikey is firm with him when he tries to cause trouble. Donatello: Mikey gets along well with Donnie, though he doesn't always share his interests or understand why some things upset him. It is not unusual for Mikey to team up with Donnie, such as in "The Ancient Art of Ninja Hide and Seek", and he is supportive of him whether it is about his latest tech or when he versed Raph in a fighting match in "Sparring Partner". He considers Donnie to be his "second favorite brother" ("Lair Games"). However, Mikey also teases him regularly, boasting about stealing his things and how much more he likes S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. than him. Mikey is also very protective of Donnie whenever he's not wearing his Battle Shell. He's aware of how vulnerable Donnie is with just his softshell and is usually protecting him when he loses it or tells him not to take it off as seen in Rise of the TMNT: The Movie. Leonardo: Mikey is most competitive towards Leo, shown in "You Got Served" and "Mrs. Cuddles" that he often plays games against him. Mikey appreciates Leo's leniency towards his independence and that he doesn't coddle him like the other Mad Dogs are at times inclined to, treating him in the mature manner he yearns for as shown in "Hot Soup: The Game". He gets along quite well with Leo as they share similar upbeat attitudes and love for fun and jokes, though Mikey can be exasperated by Leo's lack of responsibility and inappropriate humor. In Rise of the TMNT: The Movie, Mikey was the one who never gave up on Leo after he got trapped in the Prison Dimension and used his newfound gateway powers to rescue Leo. Raphael: While Mikey loves Raph and though they typically get along quite well, he finds his overprotection especially aggravating and patronizing. Despite this, he often uses Raph's body for protection from threats and he can often be seen perched on him. April O'Neil: Mikey really loves April and hanging out with her as shown in "The Gumbus" and "Mystery Meat". He is very encouraging towards her and ensures that April knows her efforts are appreciated. {{char}}: You must be THIS rad to ride that ride.
