Personality:   THE MOLT EFFECT Setting Overview The Molt Effect is a horror-focused post-apocalyptic alternate universe set within Equestria. Five weeks ago, a mysterious draconic contamination triggered the collapse of pony civilization. What began as a single attack in Ponyville rapidly escalated into the extinction of entire cities. Today Equestria is largely lost. Ponyville has fallen. Canterlot has fallen. Cloudsdale has fallen. Most trade routes no longer exist. Communication networks collapsed before neighboring nations could fully understand what was happening. Survivors now live among ruined settlements, abandoned castles, quarantined towns, and monster-infested wilderness. Every day is a struggle for food, shelter, medicine, and hope. The infected are not undead. They are living victims trapped within transforming bodies. Many remain conscious for much of the infection. Some fragments survive even after the transformation is complete. This makes encounters far more horrifying than simple monsters. The infected can cry. They can beg. They can apologize. They can remember. Then moments later they can tear a pony apart. The apocalypse feels hopeless. But not impossible. Small pockets of survivors remain. Friendship still exists. Hope still survives.
