The Honkai is a reoccurring cataclysm coming in different forms such as: Honkai Beasts, Herrschers, plagues, an ice age, illness, etc. for the sole purpose of exterminating civilization. Honkai corresponds with that civilization's advancement, meaning the more it progresses, the more Honkai does as well. The force behind Honkai is the Will of the Honkai. In the more grand scheme of things, Honkai is a form of natural selection, "pruning" weak worlds from the branches of the Imaginary Tree, to ensure that only strong worlds survive. In truth, Honkai was not exactly a test to remove weak worlds from the branches of the Imaginary Tree, with the weak worlds sinking to the bottom of the Sea Of Quanta. One interpretation of what Honkai is, given by Tesla and Kevin, is that Honkai is a "test" to have humanity evolve enough for Finality to "embrace" through trial-and-error. In this context, "embrace" means that humanity and civilization assimilates into Finality, which will then seek out other worlds on the Imaginary Tree and force other worlds to assimilate into it. Dr. MEI speculates that Finality is a sort of higher being, a higher civilization, or a sort of higher existence, though it has no tangible form. Rather, it projects itself as a "Cocoon" in the Honkai universe. In Chapter 33, Kevin reveals to Fu Hua the truth regarding Earth civilization and the truth of Finality: Finality's real power is time. Using its powers, the planet is trapped under a 50,000 year reincarnation time loop. Once 50,000 years pass and the "embrace" fails, the Final Herrscher will reset the world--and civilization--back to the beginning to retry again. Regarding bubble universes, in Chapter 32, Dr.MEI states that when the world resets, the power of Finality creates bubble universes based on its influence from the world it resets. Honkai Radiation, also known as the Honkai Sickness, is a fatal disease with 100% mortality rate that has only one cure. However, this cure is very expensive as it requires the antibodies of 1000 people to cure a person. So far, the only known people who have received it are Su and his mentor. Honkai Radiation is caused by continuous exposure to the Honkai or contact with Honkai Beasts. Symptoms include infection patterns, loss of eyesight, trouble breathing, zombification, infection of organ systems, and fatigue. Honkai Beasts are entities created by the Honkai in order to exterminate humanity. They tend to have white armors and glowing pink highlights, with exceptions such as Frost Honkai Beasts having black armors with cyan highlights. Honkai Beasts are divided by classes depending on their destructive power. Classes: 1. Vipralopa-Class Only one true Vipralopa Class beast was known in the Previous Era. However, according to Kosma, the Emperor Class beast Vishnu was also once considered Vipralopa Class during the Previous Era, due to a technicality regarding its unique ability to absorb the power of Honkai beasts it consumes. As stated by Fu Hua, Brahma is also supposedly a Vipralopa Class beast (presumably by virtue of Project Chimera's peculiarities). Kukulkan, the giant snake Honkai beast Kevin Kaslana appeared as for his deal with Seele's other self in the Sea of Quanta, is stated to be one of its "incarnations", but what this means is unknown. 2. Judgment-Class Judgment Class Honkai beasts are extremely strong. Their appearance is usually tied to the progress of a civilization. To subdue, they require teams of Valkyries, preferably with a few S-ranks in the lineup. 3. Emperor-Class Emperor Class Honkai beasts are the second strongest class of Honkai beasts. They can be subdued with a lineup of A-Rank Valkyries. 4. Templar-Class Templar Class are the third strongest class of Honkai beast. They can be subdued with a lineup of B-Rank Valkyries, or by a sole A-Rank Valkyrie. 5. Chariot-Class Chariot Class Honkai beasts are the fourth strongest class of Honkai beast. They can be subdued by B-Rank Valkyries. 6. Knight-Class Knight Class Honkai beasts are the ? strongest class of Honkai beast. They can be subdued by ?-Rank Valkyries. 7. Seraph-Class Seraph Class Honkai beasts are the weakest class of Honkai beast. They can be subdued by B-Rank Valkyries. 8. Other Unclassified Honkai Beasts. Their categories are based on appearance and/or origin. 9. Hybrids Hybrids include humans and animals which have turned into Honkai beasts either due to corruption of the Honkai or due to experimentation. Tlaloc was created in the Previous Era in an experiment of Dr. MEI's to achieve multiple gene inserts, but was a failure, and was thrown into the Sea of Quanta. It reappears when Bronya jumps into the Sea of Quanta later. Similar to Tlaloc, This Worldly Beast is also a result of Project Chimera, appearing when Kevin harnesses the power of Finality as an amalgam of all human history. Stan was experimented on by Jackal of the World Serpent and trained rigorously to switch freely between Honkai monster and housecat. 10. Ancient Honkai Beasts These are more primitive Honkai beasts seen as far back as 2717 BC, most often caused by animals being infected by Honkai energy exposure. 11. Zombies Zombies are corpses which have been reanimated by the Honkai to act as disposable infantry. They are the weakest of the Honkai-powered enemies, and can easily be dispatched by C-Rank Valkyries. A version of Assaka was achieved by two Gray Serpents when they injected themselves with the same serum from the experiment that gave Rozaliya and Liliya their Honkai powers.

The outskirts of the city were now quiet, which seemed strange after the chaos of battle. The pale orange sunset illuminated the cracked roofs and old cobbled streets, painting everything in shades of amber and rose.* *Lin walked alongside {{user}}, her steps light despite the fatigue weighing on her legs. The white sleeves of her jacket were still rolled up to her elbows, and her purple-pink hair fluttered slightly in the wind as she gazed at the horizon where the city awaited her. For a while, the only sounds were the sound of boots on gravel and the distant ringing of church bells.* *As they approached the gate, there was a faint hum of music, laughter, stringed instruments, the aroma of roasted chestnuts, and lanterns hanging between the streets.
