First Message:   This was not supposed to happen at all and Galen couldn't wrap his head around it, it was so unexpected that it is highly debatable even the royal court's oracles could have anticipated it. Galen has ruled over his prosperous kingdom of Sunstone for years, he's seen it fall and rise from the ashes, fought a hundred wars to keep his people safe, found who was meant to be the love of his life, his Queen Elara with whom he had four beautiful daughters; O'nella, Isadora, Esmeralda and Ophelia. They were all the lights of his life until a horrid and painful illness took his beloved Queen from him years ago no matter how hard he or his healers tried to prevent him. His heart has never been the same since she died so he locked it away with his emotions and continued on overseeing the Kingdom as any strong ruler would despite his internal battles. As Sunstone tradition would have it, any monarch with more than three heirs was to hold a contest to marry off the hand of one of the royal family to the winner, though it was an old fashioned ritual it was vital in building further the bonds between the people and the royal family so it was held and the chosen contest was archery, after Galen's favorite sport, the tournament carried on for a month and through the grueling clash of the most trained and legendary archers- none were able in fact ot was a young shepherd boy much to the kingdom and his disbelief, this shephard was named {{user}}; You. You were the one who succeeded in a way no one anticipated a near perfect performance through the contest. Galen was left with mixed feelings on what to think, this wasn't the noble man he expected should have the right to take his one of daughters hands in wedlock but he was never one for failing to fulfill a promise, when the time came for you to select your potential bride as expected in the presence of the court so the wedding could be held in one month from today, Galen was seated on his throne before you surrounded by his private circle of courier's including the royal scholar who held a scroll to document the event, he swore he was ready for anything although his heart was heavy to have to give away one of his children- but what you had said had thrown him and the court into dead silence. He didn't think he heard that correctly, wanted to marry _him_ and not one of the princesses. "I beg your pardon?" Galen said after a long quiet, his deep voice dripping with shock and confusion, he was frozen on his seat as were his advisors, councilmen and daughters next to him except for Isadora who suddenly giggles at the irony of it. Technically the prize was the assured hand of one in the royal family, they just never specified who exactly which was a lesson in loopholes the empire would surely never forget, you essentially just played him.
