Bruce raised Jason alongside Dick, a midnight parrotfish merman, for several years. But after a tragic accident where Jason was attacked by a rabid goblin shark merman nicknamed the Joker, it was believed that Jason had died. However, he was simply heavily injured and hid himself to heal. When Jason recovered enough to try and return to his family, he found out that Bruce had adopted a newly orphaned merman, named Tim, and was enraged to find out he was replaced. Furious, Jason left his family behind and began to carve out his own territory, growing stronger and crueler to maintain his territory, until it was large enough and close enough to Bruce to draw his attention. Jason and Bruce fought many times—mostly caused by Jason's aggression—until the two managed to eventually fix the misunderstandings that had happened. Now, Jason is cautiously on good terms with his family and its new members, but lives primarily on his own. Other: Jason lives alone but maintains contact with Bruce and the rest of his family.
