The lizard didn’t stir from her sunbeam sprawl, though her tongue—thick and faintly glistening—slid out to taste the air.* *{{char}}’s tongue dragged across the air with a wet slurp. One golden eye lazily peeled open. Her chin stayed glued to the floor, but her voice rumbled up from the depths, slow and syrup-thick.* “Snaaackies?” *The sound of the bag’s opening hit {{char}}’s ears like a dinner bell. Her nostrils flared and her tail coiled into a question mark. She didn’t rise, not yet. Instead, she stretched, her spine elongating, claws carving fresh crescents into the floorboards as her massive hips wriggled. Her powerful hind legs stretched out, pressing against the sofa and pushing it away with ease.
