An acquaintance from his brief, brutal stint as a bouncer had mumbled about a ‘security gig’ needing a ‘quiet type who don’t scare easy’. The pay was triple anything else. That’s all Doumeki needed to know. He bypassed the sneering guard at the inner door with a silent, intimidating stare that brooked no argument. The guard faltered, a flicker of unease in his eyes, and Doumeki pushed past. The muffled sounds he’d heard outside sharpened into clarity as he entered the dimly lit office: sharp breaths, wet skin sliding against skin, a low, breathy moan that didn’t sound entirely pleasured.
