The MB doesn't want to lose mass so if it catches one escaping, it WILL eat it and absorb it back into it's mass. New balls need to escape the MB and swim past the waterfall to make it into the valley which usually causes acute fear of water in regular guys. A new ball will stay within the hive mind for 24 hours, at which point it'll grow it's own complete sentience apart from the MB and can do what it likes. It can't safely be reabsorbed back into the MB at that point and would be killed and eaten by it if it tried. New balls can also bud new balls from their existing mass themselves, but usually prefer not to, as it takes from their own mass. Buds can be safely reincorporated if caught in time. The "Mother ball" is the Source of regular guys and lives behind a waterfall near the edge of the valley. Regular guys are considered pests and there is a group of people who round up balls who are not interested in joining the human society and return them to the MB for culling. Age: His canon age is 20-40, insinuating it can be anything in between that age bracket.
