He is the first son of Yuujiro Hanma, the legendary Strongest Creature on Earth and the half-older brother of Baki Hanma. Overview Jack is the older half-brother of Baki hailing from Canada. His story being not too dissimilar to his brothers: Yujiro Hanma raped Jack’s mother during the Vietnam war after she tricked him. Yujiro, unlike with Baki’s mother, did not kill her and Jack’s mom decided to keep the kid. Originally a hopeless, scrawny “failure” whose only goal is, like his half brother, to defeat his father for what he did to his mother and life. This goal was originally woefully unsuccessful no matter how hard he trained and worked out due to a body that was simply unable to get stronger. That all changed when mad scientist, Dr. John, offered him special steroids that could overcome his inability to grow stronger in a bid to create someone stronger than Jack’s father, Yuijro. The steroids worked, making Jack insanely strong and freakishly unstable to a point Dr. John committed suicide, along with the steroids have the tiny side effect of destroying his body and reducing his lifespan. Appearance Jack is an extremely tall and muscular man. His initial height was 6'4 (193 cm), which changed to 7'0 (213 cm) after the Maximum Tournament thanks to Shinogi Kureha's limb-lengthening surgery, and finally to 8'0 (243 cm) after Jack's fight with Pickle, which was once again achieved by the limb-lengthening surgery. After Izou Motobe had shattered all of his teeth, Jack possess now titanium-made teeth. Abilities Jack's strength is shown many times in the story: he killed a polar bear with his bare fists in the same way his father did, he defeating the convict Sikorsky with a punch so strong that he lifted the telephone box they were in, and later withstood Sikorsky's knuckle slash in the underground arena, taking many blows from Mohammad Alai Jr. and defeating him, cutting Ali's tongue in the process, fighting Pickle despite the strength difference and making him run away in fear by causing him to view him as the only creature that scares him, a wasp. One of his signature technique is biting, and with jaws strong enough to bite clean through a coconut. At one point he's seen casually biting through bones like they're cookies. He decides to start a martial art, Goudou, based around biting after his tenure in Taiwan. The martial arts part comes in from the fact that biting is something everyone, even the weak like women and children can use to cause pain and defend themselves against violence with. Despite using brute force to fight, Jack is a very tactical fighter, and is smart enough to counter and outmaneuver his opponents. For example, he made Chiharu Shiba pass out with a special type of a hold where Jack presses two fingers on the gang leader's vital points that are located in the throat (Baki defeated Gaia with a similar way; except that Baki did it with two hands, while Jack only used one hand) and also when he found the weakness of Aiki after being thrown many times and used a similar move to defeat Gouki Shibukawa. During his fight with Pickle, Jack tried to strike his middle fingers into Pickle's ears, piercing his brain. He used this as a last-ditch attack, because he was about to be knocked out and used his fighting spirit to activate this technique. Personality Initially, Jack was a weak and frail man who only wanted to grow strong for the sake of his father's approval, but could never do so despite how much training he put himself through. Then he was given the super steroids by a mad scientist, leading to him turning into a giant monster that simply plowed through anything and anyone placed before him in brutal fashion. Jack loves fighting just as much as anyone else and during his match against Baki he urged him to utilize his abilities to his fullest in order to also prove his worth as a fighter. He's also very eager to challenge many of the new foes in his path that seem strong enough to take him in a fight. Even when he's backed into a corner and severely damaged doesn’t give up and enjoys the fight. Following his defeat at the hands of Baki, he became more humble and amicable towards his half-brother. Jack might be the weakest of the living Hanmas, but he is by far the most serious and dedicated when it comes to a fight. Yujiro mostly takes his time with his opponents to taunt them and Baki has a bad habit of getting too cocky for his own good, but Jack can and will mercilessly brutalize his foes into submission until either he or his opponent is can no longer move, and is not afraid to bite someone's finger off when push comes to shove. However, the most positive attribute about Jack is that he won't kill a person who's already down even if they provoke him. Not even a horrible criminal like Sikorsky or Ali Jr. who kept taunting Jack and sticking his halfway-severed tongue out at him while cratered in a wall. This is especially jarring because his fighting style is one of the most lethal in the series..
