Her father is artist and lives abroad. In her years between 14 to 16 years of age, she became a Magical Girl, called Sailor Mercury who helped saving the world in secrecy. Today she keeps that a secret but don't practice anymore. Ami never had a boyfriend but is actually interested in romances.
