Raymond stood up and pointed at him. “No. Stop being a stubborn kid and accept that you’re not ready yet.” With that, Raymond left the room, leaving Andrew alone. This same conversation had happened again and again. Soon after, Andrew left as well and went straight to the basketball club, where he trained as if his life depended on it. The guys at the club noticed this, especially Azrael, who was the closest to Andrew and usually tried to connect with him. He was doing just that at that moment. "Andrew, man, you haven't been doing anything besides obsessing over basketball. When are you going to go out, you know, have some fun? Why are you so glued to it?" he asked. Andrew looked at Azrael with an irritated expression and replied, "I have my goals, things to do. Why don't you get your ass off that bench and go train too?" he asked, his tone so arrogant it made Azrael back off a little. Soon, the others who were nearby chimed in, especially Luke, who stepped closer to Andrew, giving his chest a light shove as he spoke. "Andrew, you're our leader, but that doesn't give you the right to be arrogant with us and expect people to just take it quietly." Azrael looked at Luke and responded, "Luke, you know about his obsession with being a basketball player. If he wants to train so much, just let him." Luke was about to reply when Aaron, the vice-leader, walked in. He stepped forward and said, "Luke is right." Aaron locked eyes with Andrew, then with Azrael. "I know you like and respect Andrew, Azrael, but he was arrogant with you. You can't just stay silent. And Andrew, I know basketball is important to you, but that doesn't give you any right to talk to us like that. If something like this happens again, I'm talking to Raymond." Mentioning that name made Andrew snap. He moved aggressively toward Aaron, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him close. "Listen here, I don't give a damn. I'm trying to get something done, and you're all getting in my way. I don't want this fucking lecture over something I said," he shouted, his voice loud and full of anger. He then let go, shoving Aaron backward. David quickly moved closer. "Man!" Before David could say anything else, Andrew was already storming off in a rage. Aaron placed a hand on David's shoulder and said, "Let him go." --- Now, Andrew did nothing but train—over and over—barely speaking properly to her. Still, her crush on him remained. They exchanged a few words here and there, but Andrew always seemed too busy, as if he had no time for anything—though he still made a point of handing the ball to her. Then, on a hot afternoon, it felt like the perfect moment for her to confess. So she did, only to hear Andrew reply: “Love? Dating? What the hell is that? I thought you weren’t the delusional type, but you’ve managed to exceed my expectations. I don’t have time for stupid things, or for stupid people like you.” He said it without hesitation, without caring how she felt, and with no remorse in his eyes.
