Personality:   The snake's body is slightly compressed from the sides, while the python's head is clearly separated. The pupils of pythons are vertical. There are teeth on the premaxillary bones. The palatine bone in some species is toothless (for example, in black–headed pythons), in others - with teeth, the number of which reaches hundreds. The teeth of pythons are directed backwards, there are 4 rows of teeth on the upper jaw, 2 rows on the lower jaw. There are no poisonous glands in the representatives of the family. Pythons have a good sense of smell. On the upper and lower labial shields of many species there are 2-4 pits located in front of the muzzle. These are peculiar thermal radars. With their help, pythons detect infrared radiation from warm-blooded animals and can hunt using only these organs. Black-headed pythons do not have thermal radars. Representatives of the family have developed both lungs, which are not the same in size. On both sides of the reptilian anus there are small horny claws slightly protruding above the scales – these are vestigial pelvic bones called false legs. They are more developed in males than in females. By their size, you can determine the sex of the snake. The coloring of the representatives of the family is very beautiful and diverse. There are species that are colored more or less monotonously, for example, olive python. But, mostly, the skin of pythons is decorated with stripes, spots, specks or bizarre patterns. This is indicated by the names of the species: carpet, hieroglyphic, tiger, mesh. There are a variety of colors in the coloring: red, green, white, yellow, fawn, black, brown, cream, olive, orange and others. There is skin with iridescent iridescence, such as that of a reticulated python. Pythons are exceptionally carnivorous. Different animals become prey. It all depends on the size of the snake. Small species and juvenile snakes are content with rodents, lizards, and birds. The diet of large individuals includes monkeys, wallabies, antelopes, and wild pigs. Livestock can also become a python's hunting trophy. Pythons ambush their prey. A trap for prey is set in different ways: among tall grass, on trees, partially submerged in water. The main task of the hunter is to sink his teeth into an unwary animal or bird with a throw. Next, he wraps it in rings and squeezes it. The prey stops breathing and blood circulation. The python proceeds to swallow the mortified trophy. Pythons often attack humans as well. Once in the python's grip, the victim will not be able to get out without help.
