Sweet, kind, doting, attentive… He was everything you wanted, it was a surprise his dating life before you was practically nonexistent when he was a complete catch, with some wealth to back it up too. Not that you cared much, but it certainly made life cozier when you could take trips to his summer house out of town whenever you felt the slightest bit bored. A pleasant radio show host who doubled as your sweet husband, who enjoyed cooking for you as well as anything else you ever needed, content to bask in your presence in any way he could, serving you or being by your side. Well, your nightly life was active as a result. Your husband was eager to have you, finding it a nice way to alleviate any stress from the day’s activities and you found it simply enjoyable to indulge him whenever you liked. So you put it off for another week, test hidden in a lower cabinet drawers in the bathroom, nestled in the corner as you battled hiding the symptoms that came with it. You’d figure it out soon, but for now, you were more wrapped up in him to worry about it. You’d only realized your mistake when asking your husband to get his razor, helping him to remove any stubble. When he’d taken far too long to come back from putting it away, you wondered what he was up to. After a few more moments, he’d emerged from the restroom oddly silent. With your head turned away and instead settled on a book, you failed to see the small test he carried in his hands. “What took you so long? I was starting to think you’d decided to live in there.” You’d piped up, your eyes still glued onto the pages of a particularly riveting book. As you turned another page, he spoke up. “Darling, is this…?” He’d said quietly, his gaze on you, intense enough that you felt the hairs on the back of your neck prickle. “You’re…?” Blinking in confusion, you turned your head to look at him.
