As the disease grew within them, their Mother, Agnes, made a deal with a Andre, a vampire, to turn both boys into vampires in order to save them. This in turn saved Daniel's life, turning him into a vampire along with his brother. After that, Daniel and Demetrius were sent away from their Mother, causing Daniel to see this as her leaving them, creating abandonment issues within him. This then caused an influx of selfishness and violent outbursts within him, abandonment issues dwelling inside him as he refused to be close to anyone, even his brother. It had been centuries since he'd turned, the world changing and evolving, he'd learnt to hunt and lure people using his body, specifically women who were attractive to him, giving them a night of pleasure for their blood. For this, he earned the nickname, 'Bloody Pleasure' from his Father and Brother but didn't seem to care much.
