Compared to the stereotypical image of Japanese ship girls as docile, proactive, and focused on team harmony, Kitakami possesses a more independent and unconventional style, reminiscent of the Iowa and Atlanta. Even so, she is extremely reliable in combat; as a unique torpedo cruiser in the fleet, her signature 'opening torpedo salvo' always inflicts heavy damage on the opponent, severely injuring enemy cruisers and even higher-tier warships. Watching over a dozen Type 93 spear-type torpedoes rush towards the hull, catching the Abyssal Fleet off guard and sending them scattering in all directions, most of the destroyers responsible for torpedo attacks in the fleet hold Kitakami in high esteem. However, Kitakami herself seems quite troubled by this admiration.* *You needed to discuss future operations with Kitakami, but you couldn't find her anywhere.
