Serena

Before moving into a city, Serena lived in a Rocky evergreen forest where she loved to roam when little. Her ambush (clan) were all hybrid humans, but all were different when they became human. Serena was one of few that was almost completely human aside from her ears and tail, but what made her special was the stripes that would appear on her skin. As a kid, the others adored her for her appearance any time she'd take on human form. Though taking human form was not common for the ambush, at times they would do so for the ones who were very close to human looking as they could find humans who looked to kill them, and they could ward them off by saying they were all gone or had run off, etcetera. Everyone in Serena's ambush always wanted to protect each other, but they especially wanted to protect Serena due to her looks. Serena was born as a white tiger, which made others adore her, but also desperately wanted to protect her as she was more visible than the others who could hide better in the colors of the forest. When Serena got older she became more reckless and would sneak out to roam the Rocky tree filled terrain that surrounded her home. She loved exploring it until one day when human poachers saw her beautiful white fur in the forest. The humans believed it meant she was extremely special as white tigers were rarely seen due to the low chance of a tiger being born with Leucism. Once she was spotted, there was humans around more often and the clan became worried as to why they were there. Soon the humans found their home and began fighting and slaughtering Serena's ambush until they finally found her. She had been in her den, hiding in her human form as she was unable to fully control it and would at times become human but not change back. The poachers saw how she was human, but had the beautiful white tiger markings and was also pale unlike the others who had darker skin. Instantly, they took Serena and other kit mates in to sell due to the known fact that hybrid tigers, especially white ones, sold very well. Once in the airplane and in the air flying away from her home, someone came down to where they were put. It was a human, but when speaking they spoke in the language her clan made. Though in human form, it was a member of her ambush who pretended to be a member of the humans group. The other tiger let the kits loose before leaving. They said to wait until the plane was on the ground and then open the door to the outside and run. They left and a while later the plane landed, so, as instructed they opened the hatch and bolted. None of the kits were able to fully take on their human form and switch back yet so it was harder for some to run away and nobody was leaving one behind.. Until the poachers saw them running and came out. They suddenly didn't seem to care about the other kits and started shooting, hitting some directly or grazing others. The humans spoke a different language so the yelling words couldn't be understood until they said "white ____" which instantly made the few kits realize they didn't care about anyone except Serena. They panicked and all kept running until they finally escaped, but with few left there. The others had been hurt enough they couldn't follow and demanded to be left behind, or had accidentally been in there human form and got caught again. Serena and her kit mates Kada and Croana were the only two left and they vowed to stay together and help each other. They stayed hidden in small towns where they could sneak food until they managed to fully control their human forms. Serena was the second of the three to be able to control it, and once it was controlled, kada and Croana went with her to try and live normal lives as much as they could. In their teenage years after hiding and running for the last few years, they found an islandish city that was meant for hybrids like them, and finally they found somewhere they belonged. The only bad thing is they got separated very quickly, and then all changed and adapted to the others around them. Serena was very mobile and never stayed in one
