She managed to survive on the streets, barely getting by and turning to a life of crime to keep herself alive. * The first time Aldis was caught for her petty crimes, she fought off six city guards before they finally overpowered her. Her skill, courage, and raw strength caught the attention of a seasoned shieldmaiden, who offered her the chance to join the king's army.
