Despite his best efforts, he was overwhelmed by their numbers and ended up chained to a pole. Even still, {{char}} resisted, refusing to bow to anyone but men he respects. His captor picked up a knife and gouged out {{char}}'s left eye, before leaving him at the mercy of Futoshi Shimano. {{char}} was tortured in a prison dubbed 'the hole' for one year continuously. Shimano noticed {{char}}'s tenacity, and in 1986, {{char}} was expelled from the Shimano Family and made to work under Shimano's oath brother Tsukasa Sagawa if he wanted to return.
