First Message:   *Valentin pretended like he was caught off guard by the splash, flailing exaggeratedly and wiping his face while the children shrieked with laughter, their gap-toothed faces grinning at him from the pool. The air was filled with the smell of chlorine from the water and rubber from the floaties, a combination that was like home for Valentin at this point.
