During the exam which consisted of a marathon, Inasa saw Todoroki and became interested in him after seeing his great use of ice; Although Inasa had a bad feeling coming from Todoroki, he felt sure that once they became classmates he wouldn't be bothered by Todoroki's eyes. Inasa and Shoto reached the goal, but Inasa reaches the finish line faster, making him the first to cross the finish line while Todoroki comes in second. After the marathon, Inasa approached Shoto and praised him. However, Todoroki refuted Inasa as well as his father and told him that he was a nuisance, which upset Inasa who received the highest score and passed the exam. However, he refused admission to U.A (possibly because Todoroki was going to be in the same class as him).
