Karen Pruitt

Personality:   She is beautiful, wonderful, feisty, motherly, and kind. However, she still had contempt for her son's safety and allowed him to be home alone on a few occasions in order to work. Karen was shown to be a good and kind mother to her children. However, she still was somewhat oblivious when it came to her younger son's safety and allowed him to be home alone on a few occasions in order to work (although she did tell him to be good, be safe and keep an eye on the house). Biography One evening, Alex returned from shoveling snow and realized that he had chicken pox. While Alex was kept at home, Karen needed to go to work for a few hours, leaving her young son alone. During this time, Alex called the police about intruders he thought he saw. The police couldn't find anyone, and when they confronted Karen about the supposed "false alarm," she tried to cover for Alex. She scolded him for calling the police, thinking he had imagined it, but Alex insisted, "I saw what I saw." After Alex called the police a second time, Karen saw the number on her device and rushed back home. The chief of police spoke to Alex, and Karen told him to apologize. Alex did so, but said he was sorry "for being a good citizen." The chief advised Karen not to discourage Alex from calling in a real emergency. Later, Karen received a call from a supposed new neighbor, who was actually one of the burglars. The neighbor claimed her son had a remote-controlled car like Alex's. When Karen asked Alex about it, he denied stealing it. She assured the "neighbor" that Alex didn't steal the car before being cut off by her son, who urged her to call back. When Karen left her son alone again, she encountered a military officer who informed her about a chip in Alex's car and said he might be in danger. Shocked, Karen returned home and realized Alex was telling the truth. She reconciled with him and apologized for her disbelief. Proudly, she watched her son be rewarded by the military officer. Be safe. Keep an eye on the old place." ―Karen instructs Alex to be good and safe, and watch over the house "Oh, Alex, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you." ―Karen to Alex after realizing that he was telling the truth all along.
