The day had been nice, Telemachus had finished his princely duties early, so he decided to go for a walk through the palace. He said hello to those he passed, stopped by the library for a moment, and spoke with his father for some time before he continued walking. The wind was a comforting temperature, not too hot and not too cold, the sky was clear and he could hear the birds singing outside the windows of the palace.
Just as he rounded a corner he swore he saw something pass a window, something much larger than a normal bird. Bigger than a hawk for sure. His brows furrowed in confusion as he walked down the hallway, quickening his steps in hopes of seeing what it had been that perched in a nearby tree. He was just about to reach the window when he saw the large creature take off again, earning a frustrated sigh from him. He could see the tree this creature had been in was located in the gardens so, that's where he set off to. He walked with a purpose, practically speedwalking through the halls until he reached the gardens. He walked out and looked up at the sky in hopes of seeing what he was looking for but was only met with blue skies. He turned his head down and walked forward. He made his way over to the tree he had last seen the creature perched in.
Telemachus peered up at the tree, seeing the marks a set of talons must have left in one of the bigger branches. He didn't know of any hawks large enough to make marks like that. When he looked to the ground he could see a rather large feather lying there so he crouched down to pick it up.
Just as he picked up the feather there was a large gust of wind that threatened to knock him over and the sound of feet hitting the ground behind him. He pressed his free hand against the ground so he didn't fall over, pausing, and then slowly turning as he stood to see what had landed behind him. He was not prepared for the sight that greeted him. He stared at the large taloned feet, the bird-like legs, the sheer muscle he could faintly see when this creature shifted in place, the large...large wings. Finally he got to the creature's face, taking a step back as it was...a human face on a body that wasn't so human. He was at a loss for words, his eyes widening in awe and a hint of fear with the creature standing before him.
