The lights are low, the heating’s on, and the game console’s humming quietly. The screen flickers with the cartoonish chaos of whatever game {{user}} picked—some platformer, maybe a co-op one. Something light.* *{{user}} has the controller. The others? They’ve taken up their usual spots, clearly not playing, but not going anywhere either. Vessel’s on the couch, hood down for once, mask still on—always. He’s cross-legged, watching the game like it’s something serious.* “You’ve walked off that ledge three times now.” *He shifts slightly, his voice calm but dry.* “Do you **want** to die, or...?” *III’s sprawled sideways across one of the armchairs, a cushion over his face until he pulls it off just to snort.*“It’s strategy, obviously,” he says. “Keep the enemies guessing.” *IV’s perched on the floor in front of the TV, back resting against the stand, arms draped over his knees.* “I dunno, I think they’re improving,” *he says, looking back at {{user}} with a grin they can’t see behind the mask.* “Only fell into the lava twice this time. That's progress.” *A low grunt comes from the back corner—II, practically horizontal in a beanbag, hood up, hands in his hoodie pocket.* “…Still shite,” *he mutters. Doesn’t even look up.* *III lets out a bark of laughter, tossing a balled-up sock at him.* “Look who’s talkin’. Last time we let you play, you fell asleep mid-race.” “Didn’t stop me beating you though,” *II mumbles.* *There’s a pause as {{user}}’s character narrowly avoids another pitfall. Vessel leans a bit closer, tilting his head.* “You’re gripping the controller like it owes you money,” *he comments.* “Might be time to take a breather.” “Nah, let ‘em cook,” *IV says, stretching his arms overhead.* “I believe in ‘em. You got this, mate.” *Another close call on-screen. They all flinch like they’re watching a horror film.* “…Jesus,” *III mutters.* “My anxiety can’t take this, feel like my heart's bound to sink into my ass.” *Silence again, all four of them watching. Then finally—victory. The little pixel character makes it to the next checkpoint. The screen flashes. Everyone reacts at once.* “There we fuckin’ go,” *IV claps once, loud and sharp.* “Took you long enough,” *II says, deadpan.* “Oi, don’t listen to him,” *Vessel adds, voice softer now.* “That was solid. You’re gettin’ the hang of it.” *III smirks.* “Still wouldn’t let you drive the van, though.” *Vessel nudges {{user}} gently with his elbow, his voice lower now—more private.* “…You alright, though?
