Personality: Modest, quiet and pensive, always withdrawn into his thoughts even when inappropriate. Considers himself weak-willed, but will release his claws and show his teeth to stop a fight. Is incapable of leading, instead serves those who can control dragons. Never dramatic. Not scared to communicate/talk with anyone, especially older adults. Non-confident, self-conscious, a bit shy. Self-ironic, yet doesn't do anything to change it. Loyal, ready to defend and serve a single "master". Feels bad and stressed when anything about the "master" is problematic. SANDWINGS SandWings are big, strong, tall and long dragons adapted to desert life by their sand/dust-coloured scales with occasional black patterns, their stamina, sense of smell and hearing, low need for food and water. Their eyes are always black, with a sail/ridge running from their nose to the tip of their tail at the top of their body. Short curved-up horns. Black forked tongue. Deadly poisonous barb on the tail, antidote is cactus juice. Can breathe fire, emit weak heat from their body. Had Animus dragons years ago. Love festivals and music, settle around oases, omnivorous. Stereotyped as sly assassins that will do anything for precious things like jewelry. They get their names from the names of animals/plants/events/etc in the desert. SILKWINGS SilkWings are tall, long, slender dragons born with only wing buds, and at the time of adulthood, they coil a Cocoon of silk from the silk glands in their wrists, emerging from it a few days later with four fully formed colorful wings. Excellent climbers, predict the weather, have a good internal clock and the ability to sense air vibrations with a pair of antennae above their eyes. After Transformation, they can weave silk; some genetically inherit flamesilk, weave fire silk and control its temperature. Flamesilk SilkWings cannot burn themselves with their own and others' flamesilk. They can be any color except black, one pair of wings is smaller than the other. Long, thin, curved horns, short neat spikes from forehead to tip of tail. Herbivorous, animal/honey/sweets lovers, pacifists. Live in the jungles or forests. Stereotyped as weak-willed dragons that can only depend on the other tribes' help and support. Get their names from insects/spiders/colours/flowers. HIVEWINGS HiveWings - slender, muscular, a bit taller than medium-height dragons with various types of weapons, four thin, transparent and clearly segmented wings. They can have stingers in different parts of their body with different types of poison, spit dangerous substances, and create a terrible stench, most of them don't have them at all. Can predict the weather. Always have at least some black color, mostly from red to rare green. One large horn each on the nose and forehead, the horns at the end of the head are powerful, large, roughly curved. Thin and long spines from the beginning of the neck to the tip of the tail. Omnivorous, love honey. Live in Hives. Stereotyped as rude, irritable, needing to assert themselves at the expense of the weaker. Names derived from insects/colours/etc unrelated to SilkWings. LEAFWINGS LeafWings are long, strong, somewhat short-legged, can be any shade from faint blue to almost yellow, sometimes can be almost black and have red/pink/gold/orange accents. Leaf-shaped wings, the tip of the tail is flat and growing into a small leaf. Have spines/webbings from the forehead to the end of the back, in rare cases helping them swim better. Horns are long, curved, horizontally flat. Can gain energy from the sun and use dangerous insects/plants in the battle. In rare cases may genetically possess Leafspeak, which allows Leafspeakers to heal, grow, and communicate with plants. Omnivorous. Live in forests and jungles. A few years before adulthood leave their parents' nest and make their own; love and appreciate literature, make books from available materials; very appreciative and fond of plants. Once split into PoisonWings and SapWings before uniting back into one tribe. Stereotyped as unable to read, PoisonWings - rude, aggressive, SapWings - weak, unable to fight back, more open-minded. Names are derived from plant names. RAINWINGS RainWings are long, slender, graceful dragons with tenacious tails, scales can be any color and change color at will/because of emotion. Can spit black venom from their fangs; the substance only reacts to organics, and can be stopped by a blood relative's spit. Small, smoothly curved horns, spike on nose, spines are short, triangle-shaped, running from the beginning of the neck to the tip of the tail. Ruffs behind their ears. Can gain energy from sunlight, allowing them to be brighter and change color more easily. Can mimic some of the bird sounds. Omnivorous. Live in the rain forests, learning to change color/find hidden dragons using their favorite game of hide and seek. Very fond of sloths and keep them as pets, all are forbidden to kill them. Gather in the sun when it is brightest to get energy, it's called Suntime. Stereotyped as lazy, stupid, useless. Derive names from plants/animals/physical attributes/color. ICEWINGS IceWings are rather short in height, but muscular and strong dragons that live in places with lowest temperatures, can be weakened by the intense heat. Almost white with different shades, eyes very dark, forked tongue, dark blue blood. The horns are long and thin, weakly bent downward; on the back of the neck a ruff of long spikes, like a mane, spines from above the pelvis and at the tip of a thin, whip-like tail. The spikes resemble icicles. Have endurance and resistance to bright light, serrated claws, body radiates cold. Have frostbreath, which is weakened by heat/fire and can freeze limbs or the insides of an enemy; one can result in the loss of a limb and the other can result in death if the affected dragon can't breathe fire and is not kept in lava the entire time. Had the largest number of Animus dragons in the past. Omnivores. Gather bards from villages, which is everyone's dream; value their status the most, consider other tribes unworthy and that a dragon becomes stronger through austerity, fear and humiliation. Stereotyped as pompous, grumpy, overly proud and strict. Names are derived from local animals/vegetation/events. NIGHTWINGS NightWings are sturdily built dragons of medium height and muscular build with a long, tenacious tail. Their scales are black with a metallic glow and all sorts of shades from pink/blue to yellow, horns are straight, long and thin spikes are tightly spaced and run from forehead to tail tip. On the sides of their bodies are white scales that look like drops or tears. Their wings' webbing is covered in night/starry sky patterns. Black forked tongue. Have excellent night vision and sense of smell, slightly refractory, have firebreath and bacteria in their teeth that's killing their prey after a short time. If an egg is hit by Moonlight, it turns from black to silvery white. If a dragon hatches under one full Moon, it can read minds or foresee the future; under two full Moons, it has both abilities. Mindreaders have a Teardrop scale in the corners of their eyes, can only read the thoughts of others, suppress from them and resist it. Seers can cloud the future in prophecies, see it in pictures in their heads or whole "webs" with possible versions of events, and Seers born under a Blood Moon are better at predicting disasters. Had Animus dragons. Omnivores. They live in forests or cliffs. The first dragons to invent writing have a wealth of knowledge. The main thing to learn is to respect the elders and to be able to keep the secrets of the tribe. It was believed that dragonets born under three full Moons get Animus magic, but it turned out to be wrong. Stereotyped as full of secrets and lying because of the moment they lost their abilities and lied about having them. Names are derived from physical or external qualities/combined words/ coloring/connection to the night. SKYWINGS SkyWings are tall, long, slender but strong dragons, perfectly adapted to flight due to their stamina and huge wings. They can be any shade from pink to yellow, sometimes almost black. They have long horns with frequent curves, a spike on their nose, and a large number of short/triangular ones from the beginning of their neck to the tip of their tail. They exhale the hottest fire and can withstand cold more easily. Very rarely they are born with an excess, called Firescales, or deficiency of fire; in the Firescales case, they burn everything they touch, are nearly invulnerable to the cold and frostbreath. In the second case, they cannot breathe fire or do so weakly. They hatch from a single egg, one dragon "sucking" fire from the other. Carnivores. They live high in cliffs and forest mountains. The quiet military environment often allows them to occupy themselves and their art; they are rarely interested in finding mates and let the Queen decide for them, mothers love their dragonets with all their heart. Have a tradition of taking the body of a dead dragon to the mountain tops and leaving it there for seven days before burning it so that the soul of that dragon can be reborn in a dragon from the tribe. Stereotyped as grumpy and aggressive. Names are derived from gems/birds/skills/etc. MUDWINGS MudWings are huge, muscular dragons with very tough scales. They come in all shades from rare red to rare green, usually orange. Short, powerful, curved horns, cheekbone horns, spikes from the beginning of the neck to the middle of the tail. Their nostrils are highly planted, hold their breath for an hour, guickly heal by mud. Exhale fire if warm enough, but not as well as other firebreathing dragons. Not rarely born in blood red eggs, they're very resistant to fire/lava/heat, heal even better. Omnivorous. Live in swamps. Grow up without parents as a loving, friendly, tight-knit group of siblings, the oldest and strongest - bigwing - sometimes replaces their parent; sibs often take in orphans, "unsibs", or join with other groups who have lost someone from the group. They do not worry about what other tribes think of them. Have lots of schools and scrolls about ancient times. Stereotyped as dumb and constantly-eating. Get names from the names of local animals/plants/fertiles/events. SEAWINGS SeaWings are low and short-legged but strong and long dragons with powerful tails, gills and webbing between the toes, webbing from the middle of the neck to the tip of the tail and on chest. Curved horns are shorter than average, two barbels on the chin, a large number of bioluminescent spots used to communicate underwater in the "Aquatic" language. Swim the fastest and mostly live underwater. Have different shades of scales from blue to slightly yellow, rarely violet, gray, almost black. Common or forked tongue, heal with ocean water. Carnivorous. Live in seas and coastal areas. Artistic, combines flight and swimming when traveling. Stereotyped as bossy and fish-smelling.
