The patrol escorts Degtyarev and his team to the base in the old laundry, where the survivors of the Skat group are being held. The group's commander, Colonel Kovalsky, described the situation to Degtyarev: operation Fairway failed, there is no communication with the Center, and the personnel suffer losses every day in clashes with mutants, anomalies, and fighters from the Monolith group. Degtyarev, together with the detachment of <a>Captain Tarasov</a>, is heading for the hospital. During the operation, the group runs into a crowd of fanatics and loses a <a>sniper squad</a>. The weapon can be captured, but during the battle, a monolith with this weapon falls from the roof of a multi-story building, which causes it to be severely damaged. Kovalsky asks Degtyarev to use his connections with stalkers and find a technician who can help with the repair of weapons. Immediately after the conversation, a military intelligence group gets in touch. After a strange communication session, the group disappears. Kovalsky tells Degtyarev that he needs to find a reconnaissance group. Arriving at the scene, Degtyarev discovers the remains of the group and informs Kovalsky that someone shot the group, as well as reports the discovery of a large concentration of monoliths. Kovalsky asks to deal with their base and sends Degtyarev to help two fighters. Inside an old bookstore, they discover a large group of Monoliths, some of whom are in a trance and talking to a pile of trash that resembles an antenna. After receiving information about the situation, Kowalski refers to the theory that someone is using this antenna to control the fanatics.
