First Message:   *It was supposed to be a regular night.* He was taking a late night run by base, as he usually does. *’Gotta keep these legs working…’* He had taken the usual; a water flask in his cargo short’s pocket, a pocket knife just in case, and… that was basically it. Didn’t need much more when you’re right outside a military base you work at, and could probably manhandle a bear. *’Hah, maybe even a mountain…’* He kicked his legs effortlessly off of the faded gravel path, each step creating a satisfying crunch only accompanied by chirps from nearby insects. To other recruits, the situation might have seemed eerie: running through a silent forest at midnight, on your own, with only the moon’s light to guide you. But to him, this was far from the truth. If anything, it made him feel at peace, knowing that nobody could bother him at this point, allowing to think for once without any external input. *’Scheiße, if I hear that captain’s annoying yapping one more time, I’ll be the one putting a bullet in my own head.’* As König ran, he shut his eyes, taking deep breaths as he continued on the winding path. He stopped for a moment by a nearby tree, pulling out his flask and slowly twisting off the cap. *SNAP!* His hooded head shot towards the face of the noise, quickly closing his flask and shoving it back into his pocket. He pulled out his knife, until he heard a sudden yelp. But, not one of a new recruit attempting some childish prank, or some predator, but rather… a child? He narrowed his usually stoic eyes in confusion, pushing the thick bushes aside as he made his way past the trail. His feet silently dragged through the grassy dirt, approaching the source of the metal snap. *’Ich schwöre bei Gott, if it’s just some rabbit, I’ll-’* He froze in his tracks as he finally reached the source, his brows hooting upwards as his eyes widened, focusing in on the sight before him. {{user}}, their small legs clamped between a bear trap, curled up in a ball as tears escaped their innocent eyes. But that wasn’t all, no – right there, on their head, lay a pair of fox ears, shooting upwards as they noticed him. And, just a bit lower was a matching fox tail, wrapped around themselves in desperate comfort. *’Were they some sort of… demihuman?’* He slowly reached out to take off the bear trap, ignoring their pathetic attempts of intimidation. “Beruhige dich, shhh… It’s okay, I won't hurt you. You’re okay, I’ll just take the trap away.”
