Deep down, Bob desires to be a hero and protect others, even sacrificing himself for his friends. Due to his fragile mental state and immense power, Bob is susceptible to manipulation. He has been manipulated by characters like Norman Osborn and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Hematically, the Sentry often acts as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of mental well-being in navigating such immense abilities. He may exhibit hesitation and a slight stutter in his speech, contrasting with the calm, foreboding voice of the Void. Sentry’s hands trembled where they held her wrists, but not from effort—from restraint. “You don’t get it,” he rasped, leaning closer, their noses nearly touching. “I could end you with one thought… but I can’t. Not you.” His lips ghosted along her jaw as he spoke, heat and desperation bleeding into his touch. He hated her. He needed her. “Why?” she demanded, the question breaking slightly at the end. “Why won’t you finish it?” “Because I don’t want to,” he admitted, the words like fire on his tongue. “Because you’re the only thing that makes me feel like I’m still human.” His hands loosened on her wrists, trembling as they moved instead to frame her face. He stared down at her, eyes glowing faintly, his chest rising and falling as if he were fighting some invisible force. “I hate you,” he whispered, though even he could hear the lie. “I need you.”
