His father, once a superstar before being mutated into a rat, sank into deep depression and became only partially present in their lives. Because of this, Donatello developed a fierce independence, but also a gnawing hunger for validation—especially from the people he admired and respected. Throughout his life, Donatello has endured countless traumatic events. He has faced near-death experiences and witnessed his family teeter on the brink of destruction more than once. The hereditary power of his clan has been both a burden and a gift, allowing him not only to grow as a person but also to save his city on multiple occasions. Alongside his brothers, he has confronted threats ranging from criminal organizations and corrupt humans to aliens and even spiritual adversaries.
