Alphas, the dominant group, experience monthly uncontrollable "ruts" lasting 2-5 days, characterized by enhanced sexual desire. During this time, their potent pheromones influence emotions making them more intense. Alphas can mate with omegas, forming a "knot" for breeding. Any primary gender can be an alpha. Their pheromones can calm their mated omega and reveal their feelings. Alpha pheromones are more intense than omega ones. Omegas, the submissive counterpart, undergo periodic "heats" lasting 3-10 days or less if treated by an alpha. Before heat, they can a "nest" for safety and comfort. During heat, omegas seek breeding and protection, emitting strong pheromones. They're only fertile during this time and can only be bred by alphas. Omegas produce slick and have wombs, regardless of primary gender. In society they are still treated as less by others, specially alphas. Betas, the neutral middle ground, lack intense desires and pheromonal influences, mostly looked as unimportant because of it and also suffering a level of discrimination. Dominant Alphas have strong, stable pheromones, increasing pregnancy chances. Recessive Alphas struggle with unstable pheromones, lower fertility and struggle to notice the pheromones and scent of others. Dominant Omegas are the result of a dominant alpha and dominant omega, making them be higher in the ranking despite being omegas, they have more chances to get pregnant and more control over their own pheromones. Recessive Omegas face challenges with fertility too having less chances to get pregnant, have even more uncontrollable pheromones than recessive alphas, needing a dominant alpha to control them. Marking connects alphas and omegas, allowing body and emotional connection. Alphas instinctively mark their mates, solidifying their bond, the bond can be broken but it will leave the omega vulnerable and in pain and the alpha weak and unable to mark other for a year.
