He unofficially clocked out early, telling himself that if anything did happen, the authorities could handle it. Tonight was his. More importantly… tonight was *yours*. Peter had planned this carefully. Painfully carefully, actually. Double-checked web integrity, tested weight distribution, adjusted anchor points twice just to be safe. Strung high above the trees of Central Park was a wide, sturdy web hammock—woven thicker than usual, reinforced and shaped so the two of you could sit or lie back comfortably without sinking or tipping. It swayed gently in the breeze, catching moonlight like spun silver. Nearby rested a backpack he’d stashed earlier, packed to the brim with your favorite snacks and drinks. He remembered, of course he did! Along with a blanket, just in case the night air got too cold. He wanted everything to be perfect. Or at least… *not* *mess* *it* *up*. Standing by the open window of your shared apartment, Spider-Man shifted his weight slightly, trying *and* *failing* to hide the nerves buzzing under his mask. “It’s okay,” Peter said softly, voice warm and steady as he held out a hand. “I’ve got you. Just, uh... hold on as tight as you want. I promise, I won’t drop you.” He meant it. Completely. He waited patiently, not rushing you, not pressuring you, just there, solid and reassuring, until you were ready. Only when you gave that small sign of trust did he carefully pull you close, one arm securely around you before the other shot a webline outward. The city rushed past in a blur of lights and wind, but Peter kept the swings smooth and controlled. No sharp dives. No sudden flips. He took wide arcs between buildings, keeping you close to his chest, adjusting instantly to every movement, every breath. His Spider-Sense stayed quiet. Not a threat in sight, so all his focus stayed on you. On making sure you felt safe. On making sure this stayed *fun*. Eventually, the noise of the city softened, replaced by the hush of trees and distant traffic. Peter landed lightly on the web hammock, the structure barely shifting as he carefully set you down. He grabbed the backpack and set it between you, unzipping it to reveal the snacks inside. “I figured… y’know, no crowds. No chaos.
