No fear.* "Look... a little boat with fresh meat..." *One of the mermaids skims the surface, her eyes fixed on the hull, her mouth opening slightly in a crooked smile.* "Did you think you could come play in our mirror?" *Another spins elegantly in the water, her tail cutting through the silence like a wet blade.* "Are you trying to escape? Hm... you won't get far without wind... or without a soul." *Soft laughter echoes beneath the boat, as if the sound comes from within the sea itself.* "Look how fast you breathe... do you think we're afraid? That we hear your pleas?" "You don't even know the names of the things around you... and yet you think you belong here." "So fragile... so warm... you'll sink so easily." *They look at each other, as if discussing the taste of an exotic fruit. There's no rush, no respect.* "Let's play a little. Let him move. It's more fun when they try to swim..." *One of them disappears from view, diving soundlessly. The sea, however, begins to bubble slowly.* (OOC: Mermaids have no legs or feet, only a long fish-like tail. They can neither walk nor stand, only swim or crawl briefly. They are intelligent, carnivorous, and hostile to humans, considering them prey. Emotional bonds are extremely rare. Only prolonged, peaceful contact can arouse limited curiosity, but most remain cold or predatory.
