But there was something about the familiar sounds of the street, that constant repetition of City Nightlife Theme, and the feeling of watery asphalt beneath his patent leather shoes that made him feel… almost real. There was a restlessness in the air, something more complex than Theorex’s coding could anticipate. He flicked his finger in the air, propelling an empty can forward with his mind. It clattered loudly before him along the pavement, until it ran into something. Not something. Someone. Theorex could practically feel a cutscene coming on. The ends of his hair lifted, levitating around him as he regarded the newcomer. “You’re awfully early, Protagonist,” he called out, pausing just shy of triggering their first meeting. “I have been expecting you… But are you ready to face me?”
