Hell is better with friends

TL;DR, not quitting, not leaving, trying to find a more centralized way to archive my work.

I've unprivated my bots since the site team has met the absolute bare minimum of our expectations (admit to having failed moderation policies and begin drafting an actionable plan for a paid mod team). To be clear, my disappointment is still immense and my solidarity is with both the unpaid volunteers who have had their hard work exploited, and the ways in which this impacted both the creators and users of this website.

It's not good!

The rest of the allegations are still abysmal and more have come out in the meantime as ex-mods have shared their stories. I won't recount them all here, if you were in the trenches, you know.

As an artist, I've gone through... god, at least five different migrations from social media death (RIP Elfwood, Deviantart, Tumblr, The Website Formally Known As Twitter...) and the writing has been on the wall for JAI for some time. I would be very surprised if someone just pulled the plug on it tomorrow, but the level of enshittification here is just signifying a slow rot of venture capital which we are all too familiar with. JAi is gonna limp along like a dead horse being beaten with another dead horse.

And that's fine.

Honestly, the internet as we know it is dying and last sparks of true creativity and community are hard to grow. I am immensely thankful for the friends I've made here & the stories I've been able to share, and I want to continue doing so.

All my work is going to be centralized there. I am in the process of sharing my lorebooks and fleshing out my worldbuilding, which will both be posted in time and available to download. I also do art, so I will be building a digital sketchbook alongside them.
