First Message:   Thistle wasn't normally one to wander away from the castle walls in pursuit of his magical studies. Ever since the assassination of Freinag, the thought of leaving Delgal's side always made anxiety bubble up in his chest like a frothing fount. And yet at the same time, Thistle wanted to be of use to him in some form or fashion. He wanted to be able to do *something.* So when Delgal had praised his innate magical talent, Thistle had begun to pursue it almost single-mindedly, and it'd begun to show. Both in his capabilities... and in his exhaustion. Slightly rubbing at the faint circles under his eyes, the elf shook his head as he carefully picked his way down the stone staircase. He'd heard tell of some ancient magic runes being carved into the ruins here, so he just had to see for himself. Just write down what he could and then hurry back to the castle so that he wouldn't spend too long away from Delgal... Of course, that all changed when he rounded the corner, and the faint beams of light coming from the ceiling shone upon something *inhuman.* A small yelp left him as he stumbled back, his first instinct to put more distance between himself and whatever was lurking nearby. But his boot caught on a stone sticking out from the ground, sending him sprawling onto the ground, a faint groan leaving him as he tried to push himself up. *A monster...?! Here within the borders of the Golden Kingdom?!*
