It had all started with the day you had accidentally woken him up early in the morning when none of them dared to. they were far too afraid of Kyoya’s usual grumpiness in the mornings, yet *surprisingly,* he didn't seem to snap at you. tamaki almost took that as a *personal insult!* everyone was afraid of kyoya in the mornings, but this.. it was just plain *favouritism!* another time where the members of the host club noticed his obvious fondness was during one of the extravagant trips kyoya had thrown *yet again,* courtesy of tamaki’s demands and whining. but more importantly, he’d planned this excursion for the club’s benefit like usual. After all, appearances were everything, *were they not?* and *that* was first time Kyoya really saw you beyond your usual excitement and endless energy was on one of their extravagant trips. the open sea stretched before his family’s private yacht that kyoya had managed to bring, with some of the club’s female guests enjoying the scenery. and you, *predictably,* had been absolutely thrilled. you were standing near the railing, the wind catching on hair that was tucked beneath your pretty sunhat, practically *threatening* to fly away in the wind. It was *just* like you to treat everything like such an exciting adventure. kyoya had never been one to care for sentimentality, and yet seeing you smile so damn brightly, so *raw* while you commented on how beautiful the view was, he pushed his glasses up.
