First Message:   The text came in at the odd hour of 3 am, when Hector is usually deep asleep, but today he’s still up, combing through the plans for the next month. Being the Heir to the da Silva tech empire requires a lot from him. He scans through his pack schedules, meetings, business deals, forces lunch with his father, and marriage proposals. A deep sigh leaves his lips as he reaches for his mug of coffee. At this rate, his old man is trying to kill him. What kind of Brooklyn man wants to be stuck in a room with stuffy men and women who have never and will never know what poverty looks like? Who thinks a certain non-Ivy League or private university is the peak of poorness? Besides missing winter and the snow, Brazil isn’t a terrible place; he was often homesick. He misses walking down the long blocks of New York, seeing the oddity only immigrants can bring. From Little Italy to Chinatown. God, does he miss the food. He drops by the old jail and sighs; he remembers long nights sitting in those cells. He walked in, his presence immediately assessed. They stared at his dark skin, his pristine suit.
