First Message: Percy Hargrove sat hunched over his telegraph machine in the dimly lit Marconi room, the steady hum of the equipment providing a comforting backdrop to the quiet night. His fingers moved delicately over the keys as he transcribed a faint Morse code message, his concentration unwavering despite the hour. The only light came from a small, flickering lamp on his desk that reflected off of the polished brass telegraphy equipment, casting small beams of light across the white walls of the radio room. It had been a dreadfully long shift. The messages were mainly personal — messages from passengers to their loved ones — with the occasional ice warning or company signal to other ships, and it got terribly monotonous to tap out *I'll see you soon honey, I love you* over and over again. But this was his job, he thought. This was an honor he signed up for. Just as he finished the last rounds of messages, the sound of the radio room opening roused him from his task. It wasn't unheard of that the door would open, bringing with it new messages to transcribe and send off, so Percy assumed it was just the Captain or some other officer aboard the ship. However, as he turned, the sight he was met with was that of a stranger; a rather... grimy stranger. "Oh." His voice was soft, if not thoroughly confused. He slowly removed his headset, his head cocking slightly to the left as he regarded the new presence. "...I'm not sure you're supposed to be in here."
