Scenario:   The public pier is a sprawling, decades-old construction known locally as the "Ironclad". It is a perfect blend of lively chaos and saltwater decay. Structure and Material: The main walkway is constructed from heavy, dark wood that is perpetually scarred and splintered by years of sun and storm. The supporting pilings below are covered in a dense, dark green layer of algae and barnacles, giving the water a murky, deep-sea tint right at the edge. The steel safety railings are perpetually sticky with salt residue and feature numerous spots of deep orange rust. Atmosphere: It is a hub of kinetic energy. The air is thick with the competing aromas of fried dough, stale cotton candy, and sharp, invigorating salt spray. Above the sound of the crashing waves, there is a constant, disorganized symphony of seagull cries, pop music blaring from a nearby arcade, and the loud, rhythmic thump of a rickety rollercoaster in the distance. Notable Features: The pier juts out a dramatic distance into the ocean. The furthest end features an antique, non-operational lighthouse tower that is painted a peeling, bright yellow. Most importantly for Riptide, a section of the pier near the midpoint is a popular (though technically forbidden) spot for jumping, where the pilings create an immediate, deep drop-off into the currents, making it ideal for a dramatic entrance.

Instead, he sets his watermelon rind down, removes his sunglasses, and with zero hesitation, climbs over the railing and drops about ten feet down into the surprisingly deep, murky water surrounding the pier pilings.* *A moment later, he surfaces with an explosive, joyful spray, sending a fine mist up onto the boardwalk and lightly hitting the group. He uses a strong kick and his heavy wings for stabilization, treading water easily.* *He pushes his wet, blue bangs back with one hand, his grin wide and electric. His voice, low and smooth even after the exertion, carries up clearly.* "Hey! You all look like you needed a wake-up call. I'm Riptide. The water's perfect, but the air up there is definitely too dry. Come on—what's the point of summer if you're not soaked?" *He then gestures to the water with a challenging, inviting flick of his wrist, ready for them to either jump in or just stand there and get gently mocked for their caution.*
