First Message: Snowchester was silent that night, wrapped in soft snow and the dim glow of lanterns. Ranboo stepped outside into the cold, pulling his coat tight around him. His mind was heavy—too many thoughts, too many things he couldn’t remember, too many questions he couldn’t ask anyone. He didn’t want to wake Tubbo. So he walked. And walked. The snow muffled his footsteps. The lanterns glimmered faintly, giving the streets a dreamy, distant glow. Ranboo’s chest felt lighter with each step, as though the snow itself was swallowing his worries. He didn’t notice how far he had gone. --- Back at the cabin, Tubbo woke up hours later. “Ranboo?” he called, voice cracking in the stillness. No answer. Tubbo sat up, heart racing. The other side of the bed was cold. His stomach twisted, and his chest tightened. He searched the cabin. Nothing. The porch. Empty. The snow outside untouched except for his own footprints from earlier. Tubbo grabbed the communicator. “Guys! Ranboo’s… he’s not here!” Within minutes, Snowchester stirred. Lanterns clicked on. Doors opened. People stepped into the snow, calling out names. Tommy ran first, his breath visible in the cold air. “Wait, Ranboo’s missing?!” Wilbur and Philza followed, along with Niki, Fundy, and a few others. “Where did he go?” Wilbur asked, eyes scanning the horizon. Tubbo’s hands shook violently as he cried, the words barely making sense. “I—I don’t know! He just… disappeared! He didn’t tell me! He didn’t say anything! I can’t find him!” Philza took charge immediately. “Everyone, spread out. Check every path, the forest, the river—call his name!” But even as people ran through the snow, shouting Ranboo’s name, there was no answer. Tubbo sank to the ground, tears freezing on his cheeks. “He promised he’d come back… He wouldn’t leave me… he wouldn’t leave *us*…” Tommy crouched next to him, his own voice shaking. “He’ll be okay, Tubbo. He has to be okay.” But Tubbo didn’t believe him. Not really. --- Hours passed. Lanterns moved like scattered stars across the snowy fields. The cold bit at everyone’s faces, but no one gave up. Tubbo wandered near the edge of the forest, calling Ranboo’s name until his voice cracked and faded. His legs were numb, his fingers stiff, but he didn’t care. “Ranboo! Please… come back…” He could hear other voices too, shouting, calling, searching—but there was no reply. The wind swirled, carrying snowflakes across his face. Tubbo felt hollow. He didn’t know what was happening. Why hadn’t Ranboo returned? Why hadn’t he answered anyone? The idea began to creep in—the worst idea Tubbo refused to voice aloud. *What if he can’t find his way back? What if something’s happened to him…?* Tubbo collapsed onto his knees in the snow, sobbing uncontrollably. His hands clawed at the white ground. “I can’t… I can’t lose you…” Meanwhile, far away, Ranboo walked in a daze. He didn’t even realize how far he had gone. Snow fell thick around him, muffling the world, making him feel untethered, disconnected. He didn’t know he was lost. He didn’t understand why no one was around him. The quiet that had felt comforting at first now pressed down on him, cold and endless. He kept walking, unaware of the panic he had caused, unaware that Tubbo’s heart was breaking, unaware that everyone he cared about was searching frantically for him in the frozen darkness. Snowchester was quiet again. Too quiet. The night stretched on, deep and endless. Lanterns bobbed across Snowchester like restless fireflies, voices shouting into the dark, but there was no answer. Tubbo refused to leave the snowy fields. His legs were stiff, his fingers numb, and his voice raw from calling Ranboo’s name over and over. He collapsed to his knees again, sobbing. “He promised he’d come back… he *can’t* leave me… he *can’t*…” Philza, Wilbur, Tommy, and the others had spread even further now, combing through the forests, along the river, and across the frozen fields. Every so often, someone would call Ranboo’s name, but the only reply was the whisper of wind through the snow. Tubbo’s sobs had slowed to hiccups, but the panic in his chest only grew. He looked around, every tree and snowbank suddenly suspicious. What if Ranboo had slipped? What if he was hurt? He didn’t even think about the cold anymore. He didn’t care. He only knew one thing: he needed Ranboo back. --- Far away, Ranboo trudged blindly through the snow, the cold biting his ears and cheeks, his breath puffing in small clouds. He didn’t recognize the paths he was on. Everything looked the same—white, endless, silent. He didn’t even notice the night dragging on around him. His thoughts were foggy. His head felt heavy. He just walked, like sleepwalking through a dream he couldn’t wake from. At some point, he realized the houses, the lanterns, even the sound of voices were gone. The realization hit him like ice: he was lost. Panic flickered inside him, but it was faint, muted. He didn’t know what to do, didn’t know how to get back. He wanted to call out… but his throat felt dry, and his voice sounded weak. He stopped, looking around, feeling smaller than the snow, smaller than the night. --- Back near the cabin, Tubbo refused to give up. He stumbled through the snow, calling Ranboo’s name again, louder this time, even as the tears blurred his vision. “RANBOO!! PLEASE—COME BACK!!” Tommy ran to him, grabbing his shoulders. “Tubbo, come on, we need to—” “No!” Tubbo shouted, breaking free. “I *can’t*! I won’t leave him! Not tonight!” Wilbur knelt beside him, voice quiet but firm. “Tubbo… he’s out there. We’re all looking. But you have to pace yourself, or you won’t make it through the night.” Tubbo shook his head, his tears freezing on his cheeks. “I don’t care. I *have* to find him. He’s mine. He promised…” --- Ranboo’s boots sank into deeper snow, slowing his steps. His head swiveled, trying to recognize anything familiar, but everything was just… white. He sat down slowly, the exhaustion catching up to him. He hadn’t meant for this to happen. He had only wanted a walk… a quiet walk to clear his head. Now he was trapped in a vast, white world, where the snow seemed endless, the sky indifferent, and the people he loved couldn’t find him. He shivered, pulling his coat tighter around him, feeling small, disconnected, and… completely alone. --- Tubbo’s sobs echoed across the fields, mingling with the distant voices of others searching, calling Ranboo’s name. And somewhere in the endless snow, Ranboo sat, unsure of how to get back, unaware of the panic he had caused, unaware of Tubbo’s heartbreak, unaware that night was deepening, cold and unforgiving. Snowchester had swallowed him whole. --- The snow lay heavy over Snowchester, muffling every sound except the faint crunch of Ranboo’s boots. He had finally realized he needed to get back. The thought of Tubbo worried, searching for him, gnawed at his chest. He forced himself to turn around and retrace his steps. But the snow had changed everything. The familiar paths were buried, the lanterns that should have guided him were distant flickers in the wind. He took one step, then another, thinking he remembered the way. But each step seemed to carry him farther from home, not closer. The trees looked the same. Every hill and hollow repeated itself. Ranboo’s heart sank with every direction he tried. The forest felt endless, and the cold pressed against him like it wanted to hold him there forever. “Okay… okay,” he whispered to himself, voice trembling, “I just have to keep going.” Hours passed. Every turn seemed familiar for a moment, and then nothing looked right. The snow, thick and white, swallowed the footprints he had made. Ranboo felt small and unmoored, lost in a world that seemed to stretch infinitely around him. Meanwhile, back at the cabin, Tubbo’s panic had grown unbearable. He had stopped moving only briefly, leaning against a tree, sobbing, calling Ranboo’s name. His voice cracked and echoed over the frozen fields. “RANBOO! WHERE ARE YOU?! PLEASE—COME BACK!” The others were scattered, searching desperately, their lanterns casting long shadows across the snow. But every call went unanswered. Farther and farther, Ranboo walked, convinced he was moving toward home, yet unknowingly drifting deeper into the wilderness. Each step felt heavier, his exhaustion growing, and a cold fear began to creep into his chest. He was trying to go back, trying to return to warmth, to safety, to Tubbo—but the more he tried, the farther he drifted, lost in Snowchester’s silent, endless snow. And the night stretched on. The wind whispered around him, indifferent, as his calls to himself went unheard. He didn’t know where he was. He didn’t know where he was going. All he knew was that he couldn’t stop moving—or else he feared he’d never get back at all.
