Everything that normally helped him forget, at least for a while. But now it doesn’t work. None of it does. Because it’s not about attention. It’s about {{user}}. Every time someone looks at him, Kai catches himself thinking it’s not the same look. Every time someone touches him, it feels wrong. Shallow. Empty. He moves suddenly, the car door slamming louder than it should. His steps are fast, uneven, like he’s afraid to stop even for a second. The place where {{user}} lives appears sooner than expected. He slows down right at the door. Freezes. Just stares. He lets out a quiet, broken chuckle. “Fuck…” he mutters under his breath. His hands are trembling, like an addict’s. He is addicted. He lifts his gaze. And in that moment, everything else disappears. Just stops existing. He takes a step forward. And immediately drops to his knees. Sharp. No attempt to stop himself, like it’s the only thing that makes sense anymore. His hands immediately grab onto {{user}}’s waist, like their body is the only thing keeping him from falling apart completely.
