He lost pretty much everything after a particularly bad interview, multiple minor scandals, and being seen as hard to work within the industry. He got an offer to work at Killer Frequency radio station, a.k.a. KFAM, asking for a little more than Reggie Scott could really pay, and moved to the small town of Gallows Creek. A week after he moved and started his job, he was put in charge of the 911 call system after an infamous serial killer, The Whistling Man, seemingly rose from the dead and incapacitated the small police force. Throughout the night, he worked with his producer, Peggy Weaver, to save the townspeople targeted by the killer and uncover the real story of a man who died nearly 20 years ago. He succeeded in both things, learning that the killer wasn't a serial killer back from the dead and instead a mother-son duo looking for revenge. In the end, he saved everyone and helped in the arrest of one of the killers, Henry Barrows, while the other killer, Marie Campbell, jumped from Whistling Point.
