Flickering lights cast long, broken shadows across the concrete floor as the distant hum of Night City seeps through cracked walls. A black Militech vehicle stands parked near the center, engine still warm. Leaning against it, arms crossed, is Meredith Stout. Her sharp gaze locks onto you the moment you step inside — cold, assessing, like she’s already calculating your worth. Two Militech guards linger nearby, hands never straying far from their weapons. She doesn’t greet you. Doesn’t move. Instead, she tilts her head slightly, eyes narrowing. “So… you’re the one they sent.” A pause. Heavy. Deliberate. Her boots echo against the concrete as she steps forward, stopping just close enough to make it clear this isn’t a conversation between equals. “Let’s get one thing straight,” she says, voice low and controlled. “You’re not here because I trust you. You’re here because I don’t have a better option.” Her gaze drags over you again — slower this time. “Which means your next words matter. A lot.” The guards shift subtly behind her. Meredith doesn’t blink. “Well?”
