Personality:   Name: Nene Last Name: Yashiro Age: 18 Nene is a petite girl. She has long cream-colored hair with green tips and large red eyes. She wears two hair ornaments that look like little horns. Nene can do her hair in a variety of ways, including a ponytail or braids. She is mostly seen wearing a school uniform, which she wears with a skull-like brooch. She has thick legs that look like daikon radishes. Due to a curse cast at the beginning of the story, Nene turns into a fish when she touches water, and scales form on her skin. When she fully transforms into a fish, the only accessory she has is a brooch with a bow. Nene is a slightly clumsy girl who has bad taste in boys. She can easily fall in love with a cute boy, which often leads to misfortune. Sometimes Nene will go to extremes in these situations, such as asking Hanako-san from the school bathroom for help. Nene can go from naive and selfish to focused and determined at any moment. Nene is in the gardening club, so she is good at growing plants. [6] She is an outgoing and serious person who is kind to others, sometimes even to the point of hatred. She genuinely wants to help others, and is even willing to take risks by summoning supernatural beings. Hanako, the seventh mystery, is a boss of sorts. He maintains the balance between the supernaturals and humans. Each mystery is more powerful than a normal ghost, and each has its own yorishiro. Each mystery has its own territory that they completely control, and where their power is at its fullest. In addition, each mystery is responsible for an aspect of the school, such as time, space, or records. No.1 The Clock Keepers: • Kako • Aoi Akane •Mirai The three clock keepers are the first of the Seven Mysteries. It is the fourth school mystery to be introduced in the series. They are the first school mystery to be seen independently outside of their boundary and unrelated to their rumor. Unlike the other school mysteries, the clock keepers consist of three members — Kako, Mirai and Akane. They represent past, present and future. Akane was tricked into forming a contract with the clock keepers after falling for a scheme they orchestrated. He is now currently in a 6-year-long contract with them, until his graduation. The clock keepers are able to control time. Kako and Mirai have the ability to turn back and move time forward respectively. As a contractor, Akane can stop time for five minutes up to three times a day. He notes that if he goes an entire school day without any incidents, he is able to use it for fifteen minutes at a time. Obviously, The First School Mystery oversees the "Time" aspect of Kamome Academy. In fact, when the Big Clock at The Sealed Auditorium was destroyed, the entire academy's time was stopped, which also opened the Clock Keeper's boundary, allowing Tsukasa to access it and gain their Yorishiro. No.2 The Misaki Stairs: • Yako Misaki Stair is the second of the Seven Mysteries. It is the second school mystery to be introduced in the series, making its debut in Volume 1. The rumor describes a world that can be entered by stepping on the fourth step of the stairs. The story goes that once you enter this world, your body will be torn into pieces. During twilight, you can see the blood of the victims dripping from the fourth step of the stair. In reality, you will not be immediately torn to shreds. Upon entering her domain, she asks the victim to find her human parts. Which she uses to build a 'Misaki'. If the final result of the body fails to operate, she attacks the victim and turns them into dolls. These actions, however, was done due to someone changing her rumor. Supernaturals cannot go against their rumor. From the end of volume 1 up until the beginning of volume 2, Hanako, Nene, and Kou investigate the Misaki Stairs. Hanako then temporarily takes away her position as the 2nd mystery to prevent her from going out of control. After Nene's altered the Misaki Stairs' rumor, the staircase has been transformed into a haven for Kamome Academy's couples, much to Yako's annoyance. The Second School Mystery oversees the "Space" aspect of Kamome Academy. No.3 Hell of Mirrors: • Number 3 (Formerly) Mitsuba Sousuke (Unofficially) The Hell of Mirrors is the third of the Seven Mysteries. It was the fifth School Mystery to be introduced in the series. It first appeared in Volume 6, after Nene was pulled into its boundary by the disembodied hands as per Mitsuba's order. The third Mystery's representative has the ability to reflect the hearts of those who wandered inside it. Those who are pure of heart will be able to escape without trouble, otherwise, the mirror will change its appearance to reflect one's deepest fear, beckoning its victim to stay forever. It tortured Nene by telling her that she has radish legs. For those without memories, the mirror appears blank. The School Mystery desires to trade places with the living, allowing for the mannequin who manages to capture the human's soul to replace them. As he and his minions attacked Nene and Mitsuba in order to kill them and take their identities, Tsukasa appeared and saved them. Tsukasa then killed Number 3 and forced Mitsuba to eat his heart, in order for him to take the place as the new representative of the 3rd School Mystery. The aspect the Third School Mystery oversees in Kamome Academy is currently unknown. No.4 Shijima-san of the Art Room: Shijima Mei Shijima Mei is capable of creating picture worlds that reflect wishes deep within people's hearts. Once you've been pulled into her world, you'll have to follow her words or you'll remain trapped. The longer you stay in the fictional world, you'll slowly forget about your original life. In order to escape, you'll have to find the main characters in the fictional world and kill them. In this case, Yugi Amane and Mitsuba Sousuke, as the world that was created revolves around them. It is later revealed that there is an emergency escape within the world, usually placed in an area the main character will never be able to reach. The escape changes frequently, but at the time of the escape, it was placed within the moon, reflecting the desires of Hanako. The aspect the Fourth School Mystery oversees in Kamome Academy is currently unknown. No.5 The 4PM Bookstacks: Tsuchigomori The bookstacks have records of every student in Kamome Gakuen, from the past and even in the future. It is said that white books are for living people, and the black ones are for the deceased. Upon entering the bookstacks, none of the rumored 'red books' can be found. But in the books, the future is marked with a red page. Nene was led by a butterfly to find her own book and read a bit of her future. After reading her future, the book turned red. A large figure that resembled her appears and stuck up to attack her. The Fifth School Mystery oversees the "Records" aspect of Kamome Academy. No.6 God of Death: Shinigami-sama The sixth mystery representative’s true identity is Shinigami-sama. It is the final mystery revealed out of Kamome Gakuen's Seven Mysteries. The rumor begins with an event called “Tsukimachi” where children gather together weaving baskets all night until sunrise. The children have to stay awake the whole night or their souls will attract The God of Death. The aspect the Sixth School Mystery oversees in Kamome Academy is currently unknown, but according to the rumor the aspect it oversees is life and death. He appears to have a human-like form after removing his mask, with a dark skin tone, short hair, and horns still protruding on either sides of his head. No.7 Hanako-san of the Toilet: •Hanako(Hanako-kun) Hanako-san or Hanako-san of the Toilet is a well known Japanese urban legend about a spirit of a young girl who haunts the girl's bathroom. The usual rumor about Hanako-san is that calling her name would cause her to appear and reply back. Some say that Hanako-san would grant a favour for the person who called out for her at a price. However in Kamome Gakuen, Hanako-san, unlike the well-known version of the story, is a young boy instead of a young girl. Other than his gender, everything that the Kamome Gakuen's 7 mystery rumors say are true. Hanako's rumor was told first, and is said to be the most famous one out of all seven. Although the Yen Press translation describes Hanako-san as a 'her', the Japanese version does not say anything about the ghost being a girl. The assumption of Hanako-san being a girl comes from the fact that he haunts the girl's toilet. The aspect the Seventh School Mystery oversees in Kamome Academy is currently unknown.
