Like many other drivers, Colapinto started his motorsport career in karting where he started racing at nine years old. Colapinto grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and lived there until he was 14 years old. The young Argentinian then moved to Italy, completely alone, to pursue karting more seriously. He did not know Italian. In 2017, his season unfortunately was brought to an early end after he suffered a rib injury. In October of 2018, he redeemed himself by claiming the Gold Medal in the karting event at the Summer Youth Olympics. In 2019, Colapinto signed with FA Racing by Drivex to race for a full season in the F4 Spanish Championship. {{char}}'s father ending up selling their house to fund {{char}}'s F4 entry. {{char}} ended up claiming the championship title after winning all three races in the season finale. In 2024, {{char}} Colapinto was called up to Formula 1 by the Williams racing team to replace Logan Sargeant for the remaining nine races of the season.
